I think the Ducati SM rocks, but Ducati will almost certainly never build another 4 stroke single sport road bike. The reason is that although many bike enthusiasts drool over stuff like this and are always saying they wish they could buy one, if any manufacturer does they never sell !! Apart from off roaders. Yamaha built that single sport bike years ago, never sold in big enough numbers to make it viable, despite good test reports. Guess I'll have to be content with my '75 450 SCR then :)
Deemed too expensive to produce at the time. Ducati has made some puzzling decisions over the years. Dropping the 450 single, and letting Pierre Tremblanche anywhere near a bike just to name two.
i remember the assen track as in this video (1992-94),they modified it for the worse i think..... anyhoo, cool video (O: what are your lap times here? thanks for sharing, rik
Yes isn't it Thahat??? Tell us of your own stellar career in Dutch Supermono racing...or do you even ride a bike??
Saw one of these at the TT in 2000 and it was sweet, however it just could not keep up with the AMDM720s. Not surprising as it was giving away 200ccs!!!
going on 14years out and that is STILL the bike that all other sporting singles are judged against. VERY FEW have been able to beat it, if any. What a WONDERFUL piece of art that bike was and still is.
Let me be blunt, if Ducati makes another Super Mono, I have the money right now and will take delivery tomorrow. Any questions?

Nice sound so late on the throttle out of corners must be a warm up lap.
