Overall though, we weren't so much going for a political statement, but rather just have fun with a period of time that is kindof overlooked. We just had a good time making it, and hoped that some other folks might get a laugh out of it too.
Yeah, well, we haven't really studied Thoreau much, it was a while back in my english class. We were given this project as an assignment. This was more just our "Fuck You" to our teacher who's class was lame, and she was obsessed with Thoreau. She's not a bad lady, but the class was seriously the most boring thing ever. The guy in the suit (Garren) pretty much made shit up as he went along.
Whenn I was young I saw a movie called "my side of the mountain".I tried to emulate the movie based on writings by Thoreau with disatreous results.But what have we so good today? A polluted sick and dying planet? Kids that use schools as shooting Galleries? The loss of all morals and values?Bush and Putin ready to start a new cold war? Maybe Thoreau wasn't such a joke after all.
Thanks for checking out our video. The main highlight to me, and most people was when Garren was taking a shit in the woods on the credits and being shot.
Thoreau is not boring.
