A protest song about the cancellation of the space exploration programme in the late 70's which set us back about 20 years. The eagle was the lunar landing craft (The eagle has landed) & the sleeping satellite is of course the moon.
check out the extended mix of this song for a beautiful, understated (low in the mix) guitar passage towards the end, According to wikipedia, John Hughes played guitar but it's unclear whether he played the solo passage. To my mind, the producer kept it too low in the mix but maybe that was the idea.
I heard this song while I was in a store today and had totally forgotten it. Of course I had to jot down the lyrics because I couldnt remember who sang it or the title. So glad I found it. I remember when this was on the radio. Days long ago it seems.

"the woman in this video seems misplaced in the environment"
Because she's black? Now now my friend; do you realize if it weren't for her there wouldn't BE this song? This would would be a much better place if people didn't hate on blacks, Muslims, women etc. She's just fine in the environment she's in =)
i've been lookin for this song during years...the other day i listened to it in the radio i kind of wrote what i could catch from the lyrics (english is not my first language)....and so i found it.....thanks for posting this!

This brings me back to my early understanding of music .... chills. The 'doors-like' part before the solo is brillant. Outstanding song

I blame you for the moonlit sky
and the dream that died with the eagles' flight
I blame you for the moonlit nights
when I wonder why are the seas still dry?
...don't blame this sleeping satellite... nn sweetie Dahlings.
