So I'm selfish for not liking the fact that I pay close to 40% of my income in taxes (I make about 60K) and the majority of my money is going to help people who don't want to work. I can manage my money just fine and can do a much better job than the government in planning for my retirement and saving for medical expenses and if you can't thats your fault. I give plenty of money to help out those less fortunate than me but I work hard for my money and shouldn't have to pay for people who dont.

I work for a company that does not provide a health plan and I would much rather go get my own coverage than pay the government to provide it for me. The government will spend more money for the health care plan than people would be able to if I got it myself and I shouldn't have to pay for it if they already work for a company that provides it. Its similar to how I have to pay for public schools and it cost 4 times as much for a student to go to a public school than a private one.

Our taxes pay for alot of good things like law enforcement & our firefighters & that isn't considered socialism. So paying taxes to receive health care is bad to you huh? Their's alot of people out there that have health care & still get turned away because companies can't make money if they help everyone under their plan. Look at Canada & France they have universal health care & they love it. In France college is free to all who want to better themselves. I guess you think that's bad also.

So I'm selfish for not liking the fact that I pay close to 40% of my income in taxes (I make about 60K) and the majority of my money is going to help people who don't want to work. I can manage my money just fine and can do a much better job than the government in planning for my retirement and saving for medical expenses and if you can't thats your fault. I give plenty of money to help out those less fortunate than me but I work hard for my money and shouldn't have to pay for people who dont.

If those people were able to receive health care by paying taxes don't you think they should get it? I work for a company that does not provide a health plan and I would much rather go get my own coverage than pay the government to provide it for me. The government will spend more money for the health care plan than people would be able to if I got it myself and I shouldn't have to pay for it if they already work for a company that provides it. Its similar to how I have to pay for public schools and it cost 4 times as much for a student to go to a public school than a private one.

Public Schools, Social Security, ect., ect., anything funded by goverment will waste money its just the nature of things because they're not a business and don't manage money like a buiness so any program they run is going to cost more than if its run through private business universal health care is no different.

People stutter because their minds are working faster than their speech, not because they are weak. Pres. Obama has a very quick mind and thoughts get harder to vocalize smoothly when they are coming in so quickly. Add that to the pressures of having time constraints in the debate. He is by no means weak. You should learn the reasons for people's behavior first if you insist on judging them.
