in the countries they came from doing that they do (pushin baby birds out of nests and putting their eggs in) was okay because it kept the balance of all other breeds of birds but now they have been introduced un williingly look what has happend.
killing this beautiful birds does NOTHING they just keep breeding. why cant we just love these birds just as much as we love native birds or start taking these birds back to were they came from?
I have a pet indian myna that i hand reared from days old and he is beautiful, loving, playful and talks. and he is the best pet i have ever had and will ever will have!
@stephguitarbitch I agree that mynas are great birds: very smart; they make great pets. Unfortunately theyre pests when removed from their natural home (India/Asia). They do cause massive damage to native species and they breed fast; that is why culling is needed. I dont like doing it but unless it is done there will be almost nothing but Mynas in Australia (seriously!)
cont... I DO NOT advocate cruelty to these birds. You are right: its not their fault theyre here we caused the problem no one should hate the Mynas. I dont trap them because I hate them - I trap them to protect the natives in Australia.
On your site you have a link to "Moki the bare eyed cockatoo" (native to Australia, we call them "Little Corella" (Cacatua sanguinea)). If you love these birds then you should hate Mynas - they are one of its biggest threats to Australian native birds. Mynas are listed by the World Conservation Union as one of the Worlds 100 Worst Invasive Species and are in the top 2 feral pests in Australia (with the Cane Toad).
Try this in google: sres-associated anu edu au myna
oh. i did not know they were a pest. i do love corellas and galahs but it feels wrong for me to be killing one species to save another, but i do understand that what you are doing is right and im not against it. i guess ill just leave the killing to other people and wont get involved but i wont try and stop what ur doing. its for the better i guess.
correct. the fact is cant stop massive housing estates chopping down areas of hundred year old gum trees means that shooting in my AREA DOES A GOOD JOB. when i started shooting them less started coming. means tyhr natives in my area can thrive. killing them is better than leaving them. especially after spring i get rid of the chicks.
dude that is wat a gun is for. i shoot them, its much easier. they arent a protected species obviously here in australia. i have a gun but u have to get a licence. these guys r too smart. even if u caught one the other ones would see it go in the trap get caught and never go near it again
It's a wonder it wasn't able to find its way back out of the trap. I always thought rodents were suppose to be masters at negotiating their way through complex mazes in order to get to the cheese in the middle -- obviously they're only good at going in one direction i.e towards the food source, but not the other way. Sorry to hear you haven't caught any more Myna's. I haven't seen too many hanging around our place at the moment either.
why are u making videos or ur sadism wow in real life id like to slap ur face asshole

I'm very surprised the rat could not go out the tunnel it came in.
What stopped it?

@euphemus2
Yes but i believe if that is ur opinion there is no need to upload videos of the traps and calling them flying rats!!!!!
it gives them a bad name when they are beautiful birds!
oh and my indian myna said his first word today :D

If you do it right you can use the trapped ones to attract others - clever.
