i have officially never seen this type of cpu as i only recently started working on pcs but still good info and it reminds me of how u do the ram. why did they discontinue this type of cpu tho? was it just now efficient enough? or was their overheating issues as well? or not fast enough?
My dad gave me his old pentium II 350mhz pc, it only had 64mbs of Sdram, but I added more and got it up to 392mbs(3 slots having 128mb sticks) I kept Win98 on it b/c WinXP doesnt seem to run that well.: l

@vox2007 You need up to 512mb for proper speed with xp, I know it's not minimum but more ram helps.

@gsm17757 No, BUT, there are adapters called "slotkets" that allow you to use a Socket 370 Pentium 3 in a Slot 1 motherboard.
