  • i was five when i got itroduced to his music, im going to say this he was 1 of the badest muthafuckas on the otherside hendricks to play the guitar and was one of the first to auto tone his voice on record way before roger and zapp came out.

  • who in the hell can touch the guitar after Mr. JGW have blessed it?!

  • Yes they should make a movie about JGW for sure. He's still rockin hot!!!!!!!!!! I can't all that talent in one human being......

  • I PURCHASE THIS SONG WHEN FRIST CAME OUT ON ALBUM-AND STILL SOUND GOOD.

  • THE BASS ON THIS SONG IS CRAZY IT'S LIKE THE STRINGS ARE BARELY HANGING ON .BUT IT WORKS.HAS THAT COWBOY FEEL TO THE BASS SOUND.

  • Straight up unapologetic nastiness.

Love that it's a full five minute cut. All good grooves like this one last much longer than how long the commercial music business demands a song be so it can fit between commercials on the radio.

  • I'll stick with the original 60s Johnny

  • @srercrcr what do u have of the johnny of the 70s'? please tell me,i'm very interested on your opinion, just for research purposes, thanking you in advance

  • this bit at 3:49; the whole song rotates around the low note.

  • 3:49; the low note there was a favorite of the smackers in the Sinai.

  • I was living in Washington D.C. when I made this immaculate discovery of soul and funk fused together. Johnny Watson had the city listening and grooving on his sound. All classics all good always...

    10 Stars if i could !!!

nice song, cool groove, - i love Mr. Watson.

    r.i.p.

    PEACE

  • Great person, entertainer, musician, talent and sound. Great example of an artists who is very overlooked. That's the music industry.....pity it is. He was the real.

  • Fank Zappa stated that "Watson's 1956 song 'Three Hours Past Midnight' inspired me to become a guitarist." Steve Miller not only did a cover of "Gangster of Love," he made a reference to it in his 1969 song "Space Cowboy

Sly Stone was influenced by Watson growing up, and later they became friends.

  • yes, indeed, the best

  • Johnny Guitar Watson...

    The Best!!!!
