This sounds dumb cos loads of people do it , but ho wthe hell do you put a guitar with a locking vibrato in drop tunings!! whenever i try it trys to tune itself backup and then just fucks up

what gauge strings do you use.

Alot of people use earnie balls but there are some other good string company's out there

Standard tuning - Super slinky

Drop D - Beefy Slinky

Drop C - Light top Heavy Bottom

Drop B - Not Even Slinky

I doubt you will go much lower than drop B, but make sure you get the correct string gauge for the correct tuning otherwise it could cause problems for you and screw up the intonation

so should it just tune down and stay in tune if thats sorted

With gauge 10s you should stick to standard tuning and drop D don't go any lower with it...

It all depends on that and what tuners you have and bridge.

Floyd Rose bridges stay in tune better than floyd rose licensed

But you will definatly see an improvement. You see with higher gauge strings. The strings do not flap about as much at lower tunings. Hence why the stay in tune so well.

DR Strings Are The Greatest Check em Out. The Purple Pack and The Dimebag and the Alexi Strings are Great

It just takes a lot of tweaking. Tune the the 6th first then the next in order. tune all the strings a little sharp the first few rough tunes. Soon they will all be really close then lock the nut and fine tune. The most challenging part is pushing the tuner to the right pitch. That how i tuned my jackson v in drop c. hope that helps
