If the Earth were billions of years old, it's just as akin to digging a hole to China from Canada. Creationism is backed up by science as well, as long as it isn't twisted by the Devil. I take my knowledge from the Word of God, and God is Truth. Everyone, give me a thumbs down if we came into being from rain falling on rock. Silliness
You appear to have sucked in all of Kent Hovind and the Discovery Institute's garbage. Within that one comment alone, you demonstrated a lack of understanding of what evidence is, and you have also performed the hallmark act of conflating and also distorting - greatly - abiogenesis and evolution.
Lastly, what science backs up creationism? And more, before you claim the Bible is the word of a magic sky daddy, prove it. I'm not going to downthumb you to fulfill your claim, but because you FAIL.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
You're sucking in Richard Dawkins' and Darwin's NEW AGE thinking. It's very evil. I accept some of what Hovind and Institutes say because they back up their evidence from the Bible. Obviously atheists can't always agree on anything. Evolution never has definitive answer! Science in general helps back creationism. Not hard to understand. When knowledge of Christ has reached the 4 corners of the Earth, then He will be seen by everyone. You weren't there "billions" of years ago to prove your point
Are you just repeating my arguments, and replacing the protagonist? If so, at least make it coherent next time. And since when did evolution = atheism? I am indeed an atheist, but what about Francis Collins or Ken Miller?
And since when is the Bible reliable or accurate?
"4 Corners of the Earth"? Are you a flat earther? After all, that's what your Bible endorses - Job 38:12-14; Isaiah 40:18-23; etc.
Lastly, are you using Ken Ham's "you weren't there, so you don't know" argument?
The word corners in Hebrew means Kanaph which generally means extremities and is translated multiple ways in the Bible. The NT is most accurate ever since there have been 24000 manuscripts discovered. The account of Jesus Christ is fact based history. Ask any theologian/Biblical Scholar. I also know because my great and greater opa's were sent to concentration camps b/c of their faith in Christ. Notice I didn't use evolution and atheism in the same sentence. Lastly, it started with Adam and Eve.
You miss quoted. Job 38:14"The earth takes shape like clay under a seal; its features stand out like those of a garment." Nazi concentration camp. The Genises account is partly backed up by Mt. St Helens cause, helping prove the flood covered the Earth and shaped things like canyons. A LARGE amount carving in a SHORT period of time rather vice versa. Now, I think everyone agrees that the battle of the past will continue 'till the end of time. What does an Atheist look for in the future?
Either way, it is clear that your Bible is not as accurate as need be to be credible.
Second, why would Christians have been sent to a concentration camp? Contrary to a great many claims, Hitler and most of his government was catholic.
The Genesis account is NOT backed up by St Helens. The genesis account claims that a magic man created the entire universe in less than a week, violating the laws of physics as he did so. [cont'd]

You think I don't know if my opa's were sent to Siberia by the Nazi regime or not? Jesus warned those who came in His name. And to top it all off, they were German! Btw, Christianity and Catholicism don't fall under the same religion. Catholics worship Mary and don't follow the Bible. I think it's pretty clear now. I'd love the opportunity to send you an autobiography of my great oma. But I would need your address.
Given you likely weren't around at the time, yes. It makes it possible you were deceived. Your claim is a common one, often used in conjunction with the "atheists are evil - look at Hitler" claim.
I am aware that Catholicism is not representative of the thousands of sects of Christianity - though it is indeed the largest and most tolerated.
Read the comments by "60sOrBust", particularly his original "Mt St Helens prooves [sic] the world is not millions of years old". Obvious creationist garbage that I have little tolerance for when paraded as fact and used to smear REAL science.
We have completely working and so far undisputed (by evidence) theories on how planets (and stars, galaxies, etc) form and are shaped, how life arises and diversifies, and there is a promising theory in progress to explain the origin of the universe.
What does an atheist look forward to? Not all atheists look forwards the same things, but I myself would like to see our civilization reach Kardashev Type I or II, and continue into space. In the worlds of Carl Sagan, "space is our future."
Me and my mom and dad were watching Dantes peak and my dad told me to look this up this happened near where i live i live 3.000 miles away from there but this is 14 years before i was born.
Wow.. and if you watch the movie Dante's Peak, look closely. This volcano is partially based on original pictures of the Helens volcano, they say it at the credits screen of the movie.^^ Such an eruption is always very impressive and I have a great respect of that.
I lived in Chehalis when it erupted. I felt it heard it & lived thru the ash. It was like hell on earth -- after the first eruption & the 2nd one that blew the ash northwest I'd sit on my front porch and watch it blow over and over again. It was always dirty no matter how much we cleaned. And it stayed on the ground for years. The ash had silica in it and those glass particles would get embedding the tissue in our lungs.
I'm from washington, I was always so jealous I never got to see the eruption, since it was before I was born. It's just so amazing, I wish there were more footage. and LOL that is one epic youtube fight. go ihatebuzzwords!
@Melomane19 Hey, I was 18 yo when St Helens blew. Was in OR for the 5/18 erruption heard multiple booms all the way down at the coast in Florence. My family drove back to Tigard, OR late evening of that same day and I saw what was left of the plume. However, for the 7/22 erruption I was much much closer. Fantastic!!
I'm watching a documentary about it, on Discovery right now. "The Eruption of Mount St. Helens" It's pretty darn good! Even though I've seen it before. ^_^
I remember feeling the eruption all the way up in Vancouver, Canada. I was at home and all I could think was that maybe a large tractor-trailer had tipped on the street beside my house.
omg another youtube war! man almost every popular video on youtube has an argument that is completly unrelated, cept this one, people just watch the vid an move on!

More CO2 was put into the atmosphere when this volcano went off then all of the CO2 EVER put into the atmosphere by humans. This is why global warming is a scam.
The co2 record shows *no* large spikes after any major volcanic eruptions. If Mount St Helen did emit more co2 than all the co2 emissions ever caused by humans (really, a ludicrous claim!), then we would see not just a spike in levels at that time, but a ridiculously huge jump.
But we don't. Why? Because what you have said simply isn't true.
You don't see it because volcanoes go off all over the world all of the time. That's the point! The Earth itself puts off so much CO2 that is foolish to think the miniscule amount put out by man in comparison would have ANY effect on the atmosphere. What do you think volcanoes burn after all?
We don't don't have major eruptions all the time, so if volcanoes contribute so much co2, why don't we see large spikes in co2 levels after major eruptions?
In fact, the average yearly volcanic co2 emissions are equivalent to about 1/150th to 1/100th the amount of co2 emissions due to humankind. In other words, our yearly co2 emissions are more than 100 times greater than average co2 emissions from volcanoes.
Please do a little research before spouting off any more falsehoods.
Buzzwords - I suggest you spend at least 5 minutes googleing before you post such nonesense. Their are at least 3 volcanos going off on earth at any given time. Anyone of which puts more CO2 in the atmosphere in a day then all man kind in recorded history. Now go to bed Al Gore we don't need another Y2K scare.
Are you honestly trying to say that every day there are at least one, maybe even three, volcanoes which are *each* putting more co2 into the atmosphere *in a day* than all co2 emissions released by human civilization in our recorded history?
Because sorry, but that's just an insanely stupid thing to say.
Check the following:
newscientist. com/article/dn11638
Remove the space before the com, scroll down to Volcanic misunderstanding, and read!
Sillybuzzboy - Sorry but you are wrong. Send all the foolish "I'm an atmospheric scientist and I want your tax money for research" articles you want. I stick to scientist not sucking off the global warming scare nipple. The facts are very clear. The Earth produces 99.98% of the carbon measured in the atmospher.
See, I'm not sure you understand just how silly the comments you've made here really are.
What you've said above regarding volcanoes is ludicrous as someone saying something like: "The amount of poop the average person passes in one day would be enough to completely cover Texas."
Seriously, that's about how ridiculous the comments you've made are. Not just inaccurate, not just wrong, but totally off the chart in terms of absolute stupidity.
BoringBuzzMan - Just learn to use Google. "Type CO2 from volcanos". Even your silly hero Al Gore has admitted it. Now go find a job and stop sucking off my tax money for your phoney scare. Let me guess before you were a "climit expert" you were a Y2K bug programmer right? LMAO!
They said "Not only is this false, it couldn't possibly be true given the CO2 record from any of the dozens of sampling stations around the globe. If it were true that individual volcanic eruptions dominated human emissions and were causing the rise in CO2 concentrations, then these CO2 records would be full of spikes -- one for each eruption. Instead, such records show a smooth and regular trend."
geology. sdsu. edu/how_volcanoes_work/climate_effects. html (delete the spaces after the dots)
They said: "Volcanic eruptions can enhance global warming by adding CO2 to the atmosphere. However, a far greater amount of CO2 is contributed to the atmosphere by human activities each year than by volcanic eruptions. T.M.Gerlach (1991, American Geophysical Union) notes that human-made CO2 are dwarfed the estamated global release of CO2 from volcanoes by at least 150 times."
"Human activities release more than 130 times the amount of CO2 emitted by volcanoes--the equivalent of more than 8,000 additional volcanoes like Kilauea"
Any more sites I should look at?
And remember, you didn't just say that volcanoes release more co2 each year than we do. You said "Their are at least 3 volcanos going off on earth at any given time. Anyone of which puts more CO2 in the atmosphere in a day then all man kind in recorded history."
ahahah... seems strange that Scientific American would have typos in their articles.
Seems even stranger that they would call themselves 'Scientific America'.
Let me guess, you've never opened an issue of Scientific American, but you have seen it on the news-stands when picking up your copy of "Fucking Idiot Weekly".

Typical government nipple sucker. Worried about my typos in order to deflect from the truth. Why don't you get a job that doesn't involve scaring people into opening their wallets for you? How about hot dog sales? That's about your speed.
"the worlds volcanoes, both on land and undersea, generate about 200 million tons of carbon dioxide (CO2) annually, while our automotive and industrial activities cause some 24 billion tons of CO2 emissions every year worldwide. Despite the arguments to the contrary, the facts speak for themselves: Greenhouse gas emissions from volcanoes comprise less than one percent of those generated by todays human endeavors."
LOL! Thanx for proving my point. I was looking at the article that came out right after Mt. St. Helen erupted before the global warming scare was funding otherwise useless scientists. Seems the contridicted themselves now. Gee I wonder why! Thanks for the laugh!
Fix any ice cap melting data recently? Are you with NASA? Now that's one that is current news isn't it? What a joke. "An oversight" my ass! Turns out the ice cap has actualy been GROWING over the last ten years! How about the blatent fact that the Earth has actualy been cooling for the last ten years? Oh right you nipple suckers call that "an anomolie". Let me tighten my belt because I'm LMAO!

tremendous explosion at 10:41 local time. The sound was heard within a

formed. The scale steps are likely, at Anjer and Merak, to between 30

I take my knowledge from the Word of God, and God is Truth. Everyone, give me a thumbs down if we came into being from rain falling on rock. Silliness
60sOrBust 2 years ago
You appear to have sucked in all of Kent Hovind and the Discovery Institute's garbage. Within that one comment alone, you demonstrated a lack of understanding of what evidence is, and you have also performed the hallmark act of conflating and also distorting - greatly - abiogenesis and evolution.
Lastly, what science backs up creationism? And more, before you claim the Bible is the word of a magic sky daddy, prove it. I'm not going to downthumb you to fulfill your claim, but because you FAIL.

60sOrBust 2 years ago
Are you just repeating my arguments, and replacing the protagonist? If so, at least make it coherent next time. And since when did evolution = atheism? I am indeed an atheist, but what about Francis Collins or Ken Miller?
And since when is the Bible reliable or accurate?
"4 Corners of the Earth"? Are you a flat earther? After all, that's what your Bible endorses - Job 38:12-14; Isaiah 40:18-23; etc.
Lastly, are you using Ken Ham's "you weren't there, so you don't know" argument?
1RadicalOne 2 years ago
The word corners in Hebrew means Kanaph which generally means extremities and is translated multiple ways in the Bible. The NT is most accurate ever since there have been 24000 manuscripts discovered. The account of Jesus Christ is fact based history. Ask any theologian/Biblical Scholar. I also know because my great and greater opa's were sent to concentration camps b/c of their faith in Christ. Notice I didn't use evolution and atheism in the same sentence. Lastly, it started with Adam and Eve.
60sOrBust 2 years ago
First off, what about biblical claims like "The earth is in the shape of pressed clay" - which is flat?
Second, calling the NT the most accurate of the scriptures does not say much.
Third, expand on this "concentration camp because of faith". What exactly do you mean? Which concentration camps (Nazi?), and when?
Fourth, is there any PROOF of the Genesis account? In any other field, multiple, independent sources are needed before any credibility is given.
1RadicalOne 2 years ago
You miss quoted. Job 38:14"The earth takes shape like clay under a seal; its features stand out like those of a garment." Nazi concentration camp. The Genises account is partly backed up by Mt. St Helens cause, helping prove the flood covered the Earth and shaped things like canyons. A LARGE amount carving in a SHORT period of time rather vice versa. Now, I think everyone agrees that the battle of the past will continue 'till the end of time. What does an Atheist look for in the future?
60sOrBust 2 years ago

60sOrBust 2 years ago
Given you likely weren't around at the time, yes. It makes it possible you were deceived. Your claim is a common one, often used in conjunction with the "atheists are evil - look at Hitler" claim.
I am aware that Catholicism is not representative of the thousands of sects of Christianity - though it is indeed the largest and most tolerated.
1RadicalOne 2 years ago 2
If anyone's decieved it's the atheist. End of discussion. God Bless you!

Read the comments by "60sOrBust", particularly his original "Mt St Helens prooves [sic] the world is not millions of years old". Obvious creationist garbage that I have little tolerance for when paraded as fact and used to smear REAL science.
I responded, and a discussion ensued.

Wow.. and if you watch the movie Dante's Peak, look closely.

Fantastic!!

More CO2 was put into the atmosphere when this volcano went off then all of the CO2 EVER put into the atmosphere by humans. This is why global warming is a scam.
RonFella 3 years ago
Do you have any links to that fact? I heard that to and I have been trying to find info on it, and I haven't found anything yet.
JeffnDenmark 2 years ago
That is absolute bullshit, RonFella.
Why? Because what you have said simply isn't true.
ihatebuzzwords 2 years ago 2
You don't see it because volcanoes go off all over the world all of the time. That's the point! The Earth itself puts off so much CO2 that is foolish to think the miniscule amount put out by man in comparison would have ANY effect on the atmosphere. What do you think volcanoes burn after all?
RonFella 2 years ago
We don't don't have major eruptions all the time, so if volcanoes contribute so much co2, why don't we see large spikes in co2 levels after major eruptions?
In fact, the average yearly volcanic co2 emissions are equivalent to about 1/150th to 1/100th the amount of co2 emissions due to humankind. In other words, our yearly co2 emissions are more than 100 times greater than average co2 emissions from volcanoes.
Please do a little research before spouting off any more falsehoods.
ihatebuzzwords 2 years ago 2
Buzzwords - I suggest you spend at least 5 minutes googleing before you post such nonesense. Their are at least 3 volcanos going off on earth at any given time. Anyone of which puts more CO2 in the atmosphere in a day then all man kind in recorded history. Now go to bed Al Gore we don't need another Y2K scare.
RonFella 2 years ago
Hahaha. How can you type something so absurd?
Are you honestly trying to say that every day there are at least one, maybe even three, volcanoes which are *each* putting more co2 into the atmosphere *in a day* than all co2 emissions released by human civilization in our recorded history?
Because sorry, but that's just an insanely stupid thing to say.
Check the following:

Remove the space before the com, scroll down to Volcanic misunderstanding, and read!
ihatebuzzwords 2 years ago 2
Sillybuzzboy - Sorry but you are wrong. Send all the foolish "I'm an atmospheric scientist and I want your tax money for research" articles you want. I stick to scientist not sucking off the global warming scare nipple. The facts are very clear. The Earth produces 99.98% of the carbon measured in the atmospher.
RonFella 2 years ago
Care to share any links to support your claims?
See, I'm not sure you understand just how silly the comments you've made here really are.
What you've said above regarding volcanoes is ludicrous as someone saying something like: "The amount of poop the average person passes in one day would be enough to completely cover Texas."
Seriously, that's about how ridiculous the comments you've made are. Not just inaccurate, not just wrong, but totally off the chart in terms of absolute stupidity.
ihatebuzzwords 2 years ago 2
BoringBuzzMan - Just learn to use Google. "Type CO2 from volcanos". Even your silly hero Al Gore has admitted it. Now go find a job and stop sucking off my tax money for your phoney scare. Let me guess before you were a "climit expert" you were a Y2K bug programmer right? LMAO!
RonFella 2 years ago
OK, I just did. The first three links were:
1)
gristmill. grist. org/story/2006/12/17/223957/72
Instead, such records show a smooth and regular trend."
ihatebuzzwords 2 years ago 2
LMAO!!! Reposting comments from fellow government nipple suckers doesn't count
RonFella 2 years ago
2)
geology. sdsu. edu/how_volcanoes_work/climate_effects. html (delete the spaces after the dots)
They said: "Volcanic eruptions can enhance global warming by adding CO2 to the atmosphere. However, a far greater amount of CO2 is contributed to the atmosphere by human activities each year than by volcanic eruptions. T.M.Gerlach (1991, American Geophysical Union) notes that human-made CO2 are dwarfed the estamated global release of CO2 from volcanoes by at least 150 times."
ihatebuzzwords 2 years ago 3
3)
volcanoes. usgs. gov/hazards/gas/#effects

Scientific American:
sciam. com/article. cfm?id=earthtalks-volcanoes-or-humans
