I too am a socialist/liberal, but really I think it's a clear cut case of the democratic party being scared to death by the myth of republican competence in economics.Democrats, instead of demanding that ALL people pay more taxes to make sure the system thrives and stays solvent, cower in their responsibilities to the collective whenever the republicans press the spooky "socialism" button.
