Jayhawks will be playing with the original line out in Azkena rock festival the 6th September. It´ll be great to see all of them together, can´t wait.
also... " I'm Gonna Make You Love Me"... hi from Wales, UK.. this band is not known much in the UK, they have a sound of a mix of Tom Petty, Jeff Lynne, Stealers Wheel and The Byrds?
They are from my home town, and I think that all those you listed could definitely be influences on the Jayhawks.
I would also toss in a little Grateful Dead and Bob Dylan, for good measure.
Hope you like them, and if you do, please tell a friend or two to listen. More fans means maybe someday a reunion, which I would love since I only got to see them live once. More importantly, their music moves me, so I would like others to enjoy it too!
Good. Not the same without Mark but good. Gary owns a villa in Spain now and spends a lot of time there, just some random Jayhawks trivia for you. And he most definitely did not invent the Gibson SG but that is a hilarious debate. Nice post.
Sounds like gary is doing OK for himself. He has a new solo album out and just launched his own web site. I think the album will do well. Seems everybody has a web site but his is looking real nice like some real pros did the work on it.
It would be so nice if there was some way to sort out the Jayhawks the band from this tiresome boring baseball team or whatever they are that have the same name.
It's soul destroying looking for stuff from this band and finding 83924722989202020209202820982 videos about this crappy baseball (or whatever effing sport it is) team. (which as you may have gathered I am totally not interested in!)
There really should be some kind of disambiguation for search tags like on wikipedia entries!

I wish the audience would just shut up and listen... I paid to see the Jayhawks, not the beer breathed turds on my neck.

I was at Town Hall NYc on Wednesday. A reunion would be wonderful but Gary and the band did a great reprise of the Jayhawks. Very enjoyable concert.

The Gibson SG is a modification of the Les Paul and first produced in 1961... when Louris was 6 years old.
AZUSAPatriot 4 years ago
Yes, Louris did...
Oh, invent the Gibson SG. Right? Seeems like.
