Why they don't have cushion seats in the current fleet? Sitting on one of the seats in the current fleet (R32 and above) are a pain in the ass

Well the big reason - vandalism. Can you imagine all the cut up seats by thugs and violent kids with sharp objects?
Those seats aren't 'that' bad.
No it was because this was the final year of Shea Stadium's existance before it is to be torn down and the Mets move to CitiFeild.
Dunno, I heard of it having to do with the breaks or propulsion. Forgot the acronym's meaning.
