@bcount1 I just used my digicam in recording so it's a bit darker. But yeah the game has a lil bit shorter distance than other tenchus. Anyway this is why you have the Ki meter to be able to detect them. Just remember to crouch at Ki meter around 18+

@ShadowCrowX Yes, each of the 4 main characters (Rikimaru, Ayame, Tessu and Rin) has their own story lines. There's so many unlockable characters here including the past characters of tenchu like Tatsumaru, each with different stealth kills :D

Damn, I don´t have those "bone screen" animations in my version of TotA. No matter which character, they just perform killing move, blood´s out, *bing and flash* in the end and it´s over. Does someone know why?

Notice the circle thing beside the ki meter? a part of it will flash while performing a stealth kill. pressing the (SQUARE button) after it flashes will show the "X-ray" animation. You will notice that when the sword is almost near to the enemy, it will flash. You can also do this to other characters, but there are no X-Ray animations,i think it just contributes to the scoring system.

I am Brazilian, I'm not sure you'll understand, but I had the same difficulty as you learn more: Example: In the hours that you quickly put the sword on the enemy, will appear in a flashing yellow circle and this time pushes back again. It is different from the PS2 only that, but it gives. Square--- light wait + square.

I bought this game when it first came out and bought a fat psp like you. This game is fun once you get the hang of it. I'm sure you tried taking yourself against like 18 guys in mission editor mode. SO difficult! But if you roll, uppercut you can dash and be invincible or attack and dash cancel to maintain invulnerability. I think you knew though. Either way, Rin, strongest in the game easily.

in Time of the assassins it's the same gameplay as tenchu 1 2 and 3, if your seen or cauight you can go all out on a killing spree and the game won't end, fucking awesome ! hope they re-release tenchu 1 and 2 for PSP ! i also have a PSP 3006 HK Model, ! the fat PSP is a legend tho ! look after it Death corpz !

Hmmm... i think you need to come a little more closer to the enemy, then press SQUARE. If it still didn't work, go to option and look for stealth kills ON / OFF.... try to ON it.

i played this today. it seemed that the enemies could see me before i could even see them due to the very short draw distance.

If your ki meter rises to 20 or maybe up to 23, just crouch and find the direction where the ki meter rises, then you can easily determine where the enemy is. Oh i forgot you also have to do the crouch+look move to see the enemy, dont worry they cant see you within 20-25 ki if you're crouching.

Time of the Assassins is just like regular old Tenchu, though you will have to get used to the PSP format a little. Shadow Assassins is quite different from previous Tenchu games, it's more linear (like one mission will be made up of 5+ short bitesize parts) but I personally find it a lot of fun.

You also can't get Time of Assassins in the USA I believe.

You have to press SQUARE at the right time during a stealth move. Notice the circle thing beside the ki meter, it will flash during stealth kill... that's the right time to press SQUARE. X-Ray thing only works at RIn and Tesshu

No thinking about it, Tenchu Z IS better.

There is barely any pressure sensitivity to the joystick on the PSP so you end up running, and when you press crouch, instead of crouching you just bend over a little bit.

I don't understand why they keep messing with their game formula when Tenchu Z was so solid in terms of gameplay, all it needed was a more fleshed out story.

In terms of graphics and level size, the PSP holds up all the way, my gripes are with very minor issues like the crouching. Moving around whilst crouching in Tenchu Z is sooo cool, I don't understand why that couldn't have been done here.

I don't want to comment if it is good or not. If you love ninja and stealth games, then this is definitely the game for you. If you don't mind the short distance / black fog problem, this game is enjoyable ^_^

The graphics are better than Time of Assassin's,

the distance rendering was quite clear as compared to TOA,which was all too smoky and you cant see distantly.

But the first mission i played was very linear,you could only complete it in one way =/

Haha you've noticed it too. You're right the game is cool, but has poor storyline. Even the fearsome voice of Onikage in tenchu 1 became dumb in this version =(. Anyway Tesshu's story is great cuz it shows how he worked under the old man in tenchu 3 (forgot his name) ^_^
