@pixiewings1 Yeah I actually bought this book full of Dowland Songs that are meant to be sung by either one or more voices and accompanied by guitar or lute. All of this stuff usually sounds great on instruments than can sustain longer than the guitar so you can really hear all the suspensions and tension that he wrote into the music. I have this old album of Dowland stuff played by a consort of viola de gambas and it's some of the most heartbreaking stuff you've ever heard.
Wow ! Iv'e been dying to hear what those strings sound like and they are the loudest classical strings i ever heard ! They are nice and clear, bright, and colorful. The basses are rich and the trebles are bell like. Vey nice strings, i gotta try those on my rodriguez !
Yeah I'm a big fan of the Savarez Alliance High tension strings. I think I was using Corum's for this vid and they're good too, but the basses are a little less punchy with the Corum's. I recommend them both.
Excellent interpretation! Bravo! Your hand coordination is so synchronized, not to mention the various use of tone color. Each phrase is so well executed that it makes renaissance music really come to life. The counterpoint is nicely distributed between the multiple voices and you make sure to bring out each line when necessary. I actually click on the replay button a couple of times because I enjoyed it that much. by the way, you've been making those faces since ELCO days. (j.k.)
