  • Wow, that Engine & Turbo look & sound superb. It's time I checked out all your other vids:)

  • Ive got a rover 414, 16 vavle as my first car, K series engine, and i have only this to say about it, i absloutly love it :D

  • my rover is done. new engine(1.6 16 v), new cluth, new brakes, now i need a few parts. if somebody can help me , my yahoo messenger id is picasso_thegreatest

    i also need some advice

  • If anything brakes down as far as the engine is concerned, what would that typically be ??

  • There are many reasons why one could have a problem. Your have to inspect its symptons.

If regularly serviced these engines last over 200k. My other 600ti is on 150k miles and still going fine. If you got a problem with one PM me or sign up to a Rover forum for any advice.

  • More than likely the head gasket!!! The K series is prone to it I am afraid, but by god it's a good engine when it works right!!!

  • yap, you're right, i just saved a 400 , in 2 months i hope it's ready, painted in troophy blue

  • Very impressed you saved a Rover 400 in Romania!! Get some videos up.

  • you're my man, tu resurrected a Rover is something, especialy that in uk the scrapp yards are full of rovers, shame, they are vvvvery good cars.

  • Thanks for the comment.

Yes theres lots of Rover in UK scrapyards but loads of all over 10 year old cars of all types aswell! Just all in a cars life I guess!

  • To put the icing on the cake, it passed its MOT last week!!

  • that sounds well nice! Did you rebuild the engine yourself, and what did you replace during the rebuild?

  • Thanks for the comment!

We resurrected it from the dead! We got it as a non-starter but it was a bit more than that. Previous owner ran it and guessing never checked the oil level ever and it ran low which is deadly for the turbo and the original turbo self disintegrated and bits ended up going through the induction into the combustion chamber and made a mess.

So it's now got the same spec complete engine from a Rover 800 Vitess Turbo which while out the car easy to rebuild.
