@mymindourdream I agree, it has a very typical style of the era, and other than that the lyrics are bland. Personally though I don't care for the Hunky Dory material anyway, I find it too commercial, wish he would've kept on with his 'Man Who Sold...' sound.
@KingOfUm I'm surprised you found HD to be commercial, it sure wasn't at the time it was released, having said that he wouldn't be our Bowie if he kept with ANY one sound. I love TMWSTW as well by the way:) Peace!
hunky dory es un album de puta madre. me encantan todas las canciones de ese album y sobre todo el arte de tapa. tambien me encanta mucho diamond dogs y los dos albunes de la trilogia de berlin low y heroes. el camaleon es un genio
Reminds me of "Try Some, Buy Some," by George Harrison, orig rec by Ronnie & Phil Spector in '71. Bowie later covered the song on Reality. Another great link in the Bowie DNA. :) !!
@SuperFLAUBERT El iba a sacar un album que se iba a llamar Shadow Man pero nunca lo saco, despues termino sacando Hunky Dory pero quedaron estas como los outtakes. Pero esta fue grabada en 1971
@SuperFLAUBERT "How Lucky You Are" is a song written by David Bowie with two versions in existence. The first is a a pre-Hunky Dory outtake that only can be found on the hard-to-find "Hunky Dory" outtakes tape. Like many songs from 1969-1971, Bowie re-recorded it during the "Ziggy Stardust" sessions (with Rick Wakeman later of Yes on piano). This version can be found in poor quality on the vinyl single from 1984, "Shadow Man". It can be found in better quality on the 1989 CD "The Shadow Man".
@SuperFLAUBERT You're welcome my friend. It looks like someone answered you in Spanish but I didn't know if you spoke it LOL, and your question was a year ago. But I love Bowie and like people to know what's what, if I know of course. Take care and thanks for responding back.
@robotorb i agree, it's weird how this song never made it in an album. also it's a shame that it wasnt even properly recorded, all we have is this demo.
hunky dory para mi es uno de los mejores albunes de bowie.muy colorido

One of Bowie's greatest songs from that era! I put this lost track along with the Bowie/Bolan track MADMAN years later! Both lost gems!
