Veteran of Afghanistan here...I personally met Gary Sinise during a tour in Bagram. I've met quite a few celebrities who do the USO tours, but I have never met anybody quite like Gary Sinise. It's pretty obvious to anybody who talks with him that the veteran issue isn't just some cause he does for publicity. He genuinely cares about wounded veterans, and veterans in general. What a breath of fresh air to see a Hollywood actor use his celebrity to promote this cause...day after day after day.

Gary has always been a great actor. Seeing him touring with his band on his free time away from acting i might add is a very unselfish act big kudos. It shows he really care about the US troops fighting and dying in a war none of them really wanted. It's much easier sitting in a white house pushing a button or moving a toy soldier on a tactical map than being on the frontlines.

Gary Sinise is a great person and a great actor. I loved him on CSI:NY, and I think he's kinda like that in real life. A bit introvert, but really caring. Fantastic guy.

I hope you get to see him. If he does come to the UK, be sure to catch his band; I'm sure you will. He's "just" someone who is himself onstage, he doesn't act like he's any better than anyone else, and he's there to show support for others.

Gary Sinise does show us all up! His CSI:NY show is in full swing for the season, and still he does these benefit concerts for Operation Iraqi Children. He's a great guy in my book!
