I found a nice little app that is supposed to tell you if your WII has any issues. For the price of the app it was worth it. Its got a slick old school nintendo feel too! It's only for the iphone i think. Google "system dr. + martialapps" and check it out. Maybe it will help in the future.

It's bad to put your wii on the carpet because someone may pass by and won't see the wii and trip.And the wii is sensitive to dust and the back is where the wii breaths and maybe thats your problem.Or DON'T PUT ON THE CARPET!!

But it seems strange watching this, it appears that not all is what it seems, it looks like an issue with the cable, like a connection problem
they should toss all of these Wii in a pit with the E.T games and have a bomber do a bombing run because this system fell so short compared to the Xbox 360 and PS3 that no one even thinks of the wii as an nex gen console this console could compete with the orignal xbox and PS2 and I still would rather have a PS2 and with the 360 and PS3 coming out with there own motion control the wii will look that much shitty because there whole system is based on montion control

I took it apart and the cables underneath the cd drive were loose. I made sure they were pushed back in and my bluetooth card was plugged in and the problem was fixed.
@godofdead2 thats cool. heres a tip to keep your wii nice and safe from getting broken keep it side ways in a safe place like a dresser or where ever you like to put it some where where where it can't be nocked down :)

in all honesty most of the ps3 games are availible on the wii and 360. ok i admit, the graphics on the ps3 are amazing but the gameplay on the system isnt great where as on the 360 there are loads more games out for it. 360 has movies, music and pictures, you can chat with friends, and the 360 controller idea is probably better than the ps3's;

The controllers on BOTH ps3 and 360 charge with a wire (if obviously you get the adapter or the wired one, or leave it with batteries) you have more option with the 360 controllers.
but meh i guess its all down to what you prefer. tbh i prefer the wii over both 360 and the ps3 but thats just me :D

Something like that happened to me and ive only had it for like 11 days. I had it sitting in my living room and my sister told me my cat knocked it down and she put it back up (shes 3) so i went to turn it on and nothing would happen and the LED light wasnt even orange nothing apeared at all. So i pulled out the AC cord from the outlet for 2 mins put it back in and it lit up and worked.
BUT when i turn it on it makes wierd noices now but works fine- hope you get yours fixed.
the wires can't be the problem because even the controller won't react anymore...it only works if you power on the wii with the wiimote, but just after that there's no connection

thats pefctly normal its because you have wiiconnect24 turned on its the same on mine too, if youwant it to turn red when you turn it off go into setting and turn Wiiconnect24 off.

if you want the light to go to red u have to hold down the power button on the console for 3-5 seconds and it will be on the red standby mode

besides halo ps3 has bettr games PLUS bettr grafics. nd kilzone 2 matchs wit halo EASY. ps3 has built in hd(unlike 360,u have to BUY one for 100) built in BluRay,(unlike 360,u have to ALSO buy the hd playr), FREE online gamin yes FREE no platnum or gold or silvr just FREE. it can have movies music picturs. u cn chat wit frends. all controlrs are wireles and in no need of battery(unlike 360).360 has a few game bettr and for some reason ppl take dat as exuse to think 360 is bettr. in all honesty most of the ps3 games are availible on the wii and 360. ok i admit, the graphics on the ps3 are amazing but the gameplay on the system isnt great where as on the 360 there are loads more games out for it. 360 has movies, music and pictures, you can chat with friends, and the 360 controller idea is probably better than the ps3's;

(carrying on from where i left off about controllers)
The controllers on BOTH ps3 and 360 charge with a wire (if obviously you get the adapter or the wired one, or leave it with batteries) you have more option with the 360 controllers.
but meh i guess its all down to what you prefer. tbh i prefer the wii over both 360 and the ps3 but thats just me :D

oh my bad i tried to fit it all in one comment. but yea i OWN a wii. n im gna have to agree, the wii has the best games (im a beast at brawl). n trust me the wii dont suck. but the 360 has evrythin but in a lesser form. like ps3 is higher tec. i got like movies and music downloaded to my ps3. but then ps3 also has the new HOME(its sick) and all the controllrs are batery free. i own a 360 but i just gave up on it cuz it charges u 4 everythn. id rather have it ALL in ONE. thats all im tryin to say

If your wii remote doesnt work you would have to sync it!!!! Lately my wii has been acting up though....ive had it for about 2 yrs now! Sometimes when I play mine it freezes up while going on the photo channel....ect! Well anyways it only happened once!!!!! Im kinda worried though...

you have it plugged in wrong do you have any of the little things that say "adapter" paper that is stuck on it because if there is any papers on the cords take them off but it should be workin

Something like that happened to me and ive only had it for like 11 days. I had it sitting in my living room and my sister told me my cat knocked it down and she put it back up (shes 3) so i went to turn it on and nothing would happen and the LED light wasnt even orange nothing apeared at all. So i pulled out the AC cord from the outlet for 2 mins put it back in and it lit up and worked.
BUT when i turn it on it makes wierd noices now but works fine- hope you get yours fixed.

the wires can't be the problem because even the controller won't react anymore...it only works if you power on the wii with the wiimote, but just after that there's no connection

My Wii broke after two years. I was playing Melee trying to beat event 51 and the system reset. It later just stopped working. The red light won't even come on.

Maybe its your tv.
Before freaking out, try other tvs and stuff, and try reading the manual. Because the Wii remote, if you take the back off and open the small bit infront of your wii and press the red buttons it connects it.
So don't automatically assume something's broken, 'Kay? ^.^

Phoned Nintendo - it was a known issue, they replaced it for me. (this is all ages ago)

Well i was on the internet channel when suddenly it started to "lag". I couldn't move my arrow on the screen and the controll was constantly vibrating! Then when i couldn't shut it off in anyway i tried to unplug it x) when it had turned off i tried to start it, didn't work. fuck nintendo xD

My wii had its GPU fried so i was without it for 2 weeks. I got a 360 when i sent my wii off to be repaired and when it came back i never played it since. Except for when I recently downloaded Final Fantasy My Life as a Monarch

thats pefctly normal its because you have wiiconnect24 turned on its the same on mine too, if youwant it to turn red when you turn it off go into setting and turn Wiiconnect24 off.

darkbatu I have the same issue with mine...moved my wii to a friends house and actually got to play brawl on it then I reconnected it over there...audio and no video..take it back home, plasma doesn't even try to give audio...
