@zaxellord well, I saw the movie in the theatre back when it was released so I was still pretty young, and as much I loved seeing the 'Cons kicking ass for once, it was the first time any bots were actually killed. Ironhide's death was off screen and that just made it worse. He got his head blown off man! Although it did prompt one of Megatron's most memorable lines...so, guess it balances out.

Galvatron is just as awesome, mate. Check out the Galvatron Saga from the UK Comics written by the legend Simon Furman. Powerful beyond measure and completely insane, Galvatron was fucking awesome. Ultra Magnus, Rodimus Prime, Megatron, Scorponok, the Dinobots, the Seacons, the Wreckers, the Mayhem Attack Squad and countless Autobots and Decepticons all fell before him. Not even Death's Head and Optimus Prime could finish him off. It took a massive rift in time to rip him apart to finish him off

The big problem I have with this scene is it was done so bad. Prowel and Brawn both die from injuries that many Autobots have taken and survived and all of a sudden these Autobots who were shown to be such skilled soliders suddenly lose all their experience and ability. I mean, rushing out of cover and firing wildly at the enemy? Come on, it's fine to kill off character and all but at least make it a good scene. Even so... still better than what Wheeljack and Windcharger got.

As great as Optimus Prime is, what would any hero be without a villian or more accurately, an arch-nemisis? The two are so simular that one could be the other with twists of fate. I always wanted to write an alternate Storyline where Megatron is the heroic leader of the Autobots, and Optimus Prime is the Evil Commander of the Decepticons.

This scene is utterly baffling. Why do the autobots die so easily? In the cartoon series, these same autobots absorbed far more laser blasts than they do here, and they emerged with hardly a scratch. What changed? And don't feed me some lame energon excuse.

Well, I mean, Ratchet wasn't particularly resistant to laser fire, so it's somewhat understandable that he got blasted repeatedly by both the others and Megatron. And I doubt even Ironhide could have taken a point-blank fusion blast..but Prowl being offed in one shot from Scavenger, and Brawn being killed by a single blast to the shoulder still make no sense.
