  • I am not sure when or not I like his interpretation of this. The first part is VERY slow compared to others I have heard. He is an amazing conductor but I feel like it should be taken quicker. ALLEGRO CON SPIRITO...quick with SPIRIT..this is quick with hesitation.

  • Wunderschöne Musik!

  • Schwer, dick, pompös, unglaublich, dass SOWAS wieder IN ist.

  • Beautiful music. I heard it live recently in concert in my home town.

  • me encanta es fantastic

  • This 9-minute movement has everything in our life (joyfulness, sadness, laughing, tear, crest, valley...) and BRSO and Jansons showed that so well!

  • One of the best orchestras for Brahms

  • Great. But best? Cleveland Orchestra with Lorin Maazel.

  • @Opoczynski How about Cleveland and Szell??

  • @callasnuts Somehow the brass and timpani are much more intense in the Maazel. It's simply overwhelming.

  • Wow. Jansons really takes advantage of that reverb.

  • Sir Simon Rattle said about Mariss Jansons that he was the best conductor. It is difficult to define whether someone is the best, but Jansons is, certainly, one of the greatest conductors in the world

  • Fantastic! Trombones deserve a mention.

  • It's a wonderful version, similar in volume to that of Karajan. However, the one with Carlos Kleiber, in my opinion, beats them both. Great performances, though.

  • Bravo!! excellent musicians and conductor!

  • I fully agree with your comment (especially with the second part!!!) Long live MAESTRO JANSONS!!!

  • Marvellous orchestra and the worlds best conductor!
