Playing this song was one of the most eye opening experiences I have ever had with music. It really made me feel for every note in the beginning, and I had to pour my soul out in front of the audience. The hardest thing for me was not using all of my bow in one stroke, which I know is extremely elementary but hey, adrenalin man... Not to mention that I'm only in middle school so I suppose a little slip up is still acceptable.

@Benevolence4 I feel like I should add, the player in this recording did an amazing job, but my one complaint is she didn't peak with the music at all in the cadenza... and CLAVES!!! AGH!!!

I remember when I had to play this last year for my 8th grade farewell song. Its an amazing feeling to play a solo like this. I'll never forget it. :)

I'm playing this piece right now. I'm playing the cello part in a quintet accompanying the solo violist, and we're playing it for the violist's senior concert before she heads off to college. I like the piece a lot, but the Viola's midtones tend to get buried in the orchestra. Also, the orchestra in the video could really use some dynamic contrast.
