  • Stupid movie. If USA sends american superheroes in Vietnam it means than USSR sends there soviet superheroes as response.

  • @tobBabashkin

You are a fucking retard. Try watching the movie.

  • Holy shit, some deep insightful comments on top!

  • fuckin gook

  • *points towards the giant blue man in the sky*

    AHHHHH GODZIRRAHH!!!!

  • The first time i watched this movie i was disappointed. I was expecting a typical superhero movie; action and no significant dialogue(i had never read the comics or anything). I watched the movie a second time paying more attention to what was being said and was like "holy jesus this is amazing".

  • The Comedian and Rorshach seem to be the smartest ones in the team.

  • Comedian might be a douchebag, but he's the kind of douchebag you can't help but like for some reason.

  • I will never understand, how does a flamethrower work against people armed with guns???

  • @stoicG It's a niche weapon, the idea is a unit of infantry pins the enemy down with weapons fire while the team with the flame thrower moves to within range while the enemy cannot return fire. It is only really ever used on bunkers and trenches though.

  • Since when was he wearing a speedo?

  • @flippy55555 This is explained in the comic.. He started off wearing a terrible costume when he started out as a superhero, which gradually covered less as time went on, until he went to just wearing suits for formal occasions

  • dr manhattan have every thing to be a god, and then we think "if there is a god why would we care about us if in intelect we r = ants compared to him? why should he even care if there is no one equal to make him fell bad or argue with him that life matters?" thats why i am an atheist, bcz if there is any chance ta god is really up there ,we shouldnt be certain that he would matter to create a heaven for us

  • @rafaelfmolina i respect your opinion, but i disagree strongly. I comes down what you believe god is; my belief is were all part of god, and our conscieness is a manifestation of god. WE as the soals make the evil in world, we should do good to make it better. We have to make heaven for OURSELVES. Turning a blind eye to a murder isn't doing that. PERIOD.

  • once a man, always a man.

  • Stupid gook ... I would have done the same thing to her ...

  • @mongolenpup And the scary thing is...he's right. What Eddie did is completely human as he himself is human( though I would never shoot a pregnant woman, just saying). However, Manhattan is a super-human, someone that is so divorced from humanity, he might as well be an alien. What Eddie did was out of emotions, Manhattan merely has none.

  • his dick must be huuuuuuuuuuuuge

  • @MrLaurencetureaud actually due to the displacement anomaly his dick would be tiiiiiiiiiiiny

  • The Comedian. The living American dream.

  • This movie was the shit

  • What's the music piece called that starts at 2:59 called?

  • 2:52 That's why you guys are called Watchmen

  • YEA! fuck the japs and the amaericans! eddie ftw!

  • @catz135 derp

  • @catz135 I...honestly don't know if you're trolling or not...

  • @romanlegions I honestly dont know.......I watch shit like this when im drunk. what did i even post?

  • A lot of people don't appreciate this movie, I personally liked the graphic novel alot more. However, Jeffrey Dean Morgan was very good at portraying the Comedian.

  • @mongolenpup

That's the whole point of the comic. Comedian has great plans for the future. But instead of changing something, he only rapes women and gets drunk.

  • Dr. Manhattan didn't save her because he simply doesn't care. Allow me to elaborate, he views humans as we view say, ants. We step on them, destroy their homes, and don't feel anything. Why? Because they are so inferior in strength and intellect that it doesn't affect us at all. Dr. Manhattan doesn't pity humans much like we don't pity ants, which is why I did not stop the Comedian from killing the woman. It's like watching two ants fight.

  • @liand013 Exactly! This is why I always see Superman and all the other mary-sueish golden age superheroes as completely senseless. The point of a superman basically divorces you almost completely to what we see as humanity. We cannot say that they are amoral, monster or whatever because they have no human emotions that we can identify. A superhuman either acts completely alien or that he takes the human emotions to the extreme.

btw, why do you refer yourself as "I"?

  • @romanlegions Typo, my bad.

  • @liand013 No thats a writing error because he cares enough to save us from losing the vietnam war, yet he doesnt care for one womans life?

It does not make sense no matter how its seen, Dr manhattan is a difficult character to stay true to and you can blatantly tell when they kind of step out of his character and make a few continuity errors, theyre trying to bring more drama, but it kind of defeats the purpose of even concentrating on his character so much it becomes uninteresting

  • @Taud Actually, no. Manhattan, as you know, started as a human being. It's his post-accident condition what drives him more and more away from humanity. He helped with the Vietnam War because the government asked/ordered him to (remember he was working for the government in the first place, so obeying was something he was accustomed to). His detachment is gradual and this scene is one of its chapters. Where he realizes what's happening.

  • @RockyHoward Yeah but if we were really ants to him he wouldnt care about a "war of ants" in the first place, even if they ordered him to, they wouldnt be able to order him around, since at this point hes god, thats what doesnt add up at all unfortunately

  • @Taud Okay, but you're not understanding it's a gradual process. At that point in time (Vietnam War), Manhattan was still bound to his former humanity even if said bond was weakening. He reaches almost full detachment by 1985 (Remember Watchmen covers 4 decades of story.) He regains understanding for humanity after his trip to Mars and the conversation with Laurie, which is why he returns to Earth to save it.

  • @RockyHoward pretty remarkable that this character who viewed it all as insignificant suddenly has a change of heart, for these "ants" despite his greater understanding of it all. It doesnt add up, many people have criticized this aspect, not just me. In any case they stepped out of his character a bit in a few parts and it really sticks out, my questions cant really be answered by you, just a fan, but rather the writers themselves really

  • @Taud Nah, you're just being suspiciously stubborn, that's all. It's pretty clear. After the accident, Jon Osterman started drifting away from humanity to the point of utmost detachment. His first girlfriend commented on this in the 60s, Blake in the 70s and Laurie in the 80s. Then he reaches the point of total detachment until he gains new understanding after witnessing how Laurie came to be (the product of Sally + Blake, her would be rapist). Now, you can keep being smug but that's what it is.

  • @RockyHoward Yeah but thats just your opinion of me though, i said you cant answer for the writers...

  • @liand013

Like what he said in Ozymandias's Antarctic lair. "The world's smartest man is no greater threat to me than the world's smartest termite"

  • Is it just me, or was the scar on the wrong side of his face?

  • That awesome moment when you realize that The Comedian was the Dad from Supernatural.

  • @CerberusX21 :0

  • i love vietnam and the comedian

  • eddie is a fucking racist man

  • This movie is WAAAAY underrated!

  • I thought Dr.Manhattan could change anything, I was expecting him to revive the lady.

  • I love how everyone here is ranting about America being a place of stupidity and hatred . Look there are SMART Americans . We are in such low supply that our country is going to shit . Look at the SOPA act . We're going to lose our rights, don't even mention our education . Just remember that Americans are human beings too, and there are a few of us who are smart .

  • lol @ people who think it's a good movie just cuz he killed a pregnant lady. You people = retarded. Just like the fags who think star wars episode 3 is a good movie because it's dark. Retards, the all of yous.

  • @DemonFlame4 Yeah 'cause people are basing their opinions entirely on this scene, right? Derp.

  • Thie commedian is the real manifestation of the american culture....

  • If a giant blue magical guy with a 12 foot dick was blasting my buddies, I think I'd be running too.

  • @mongolenpup Well, you didn't understand the movie did you ?

  • Am I the only one who thinks its hilarious when Dr. Manhattan shows up over the hill and starts blowing the guys up? Seriously, the music selection for that scene was just perfect.

  • Did anyone hear chewbacca at 1.04? lol

  • HAHAHAHA they put him a pant for the american version HAHAHA. Hey americans i watch my dick everybody and i still can see lol.

  • Satanic.

  • oh wow robert downy junior is in this? gotta pick up a copy some time.

  • dont you think america wining the vietman in movies its a little dumb, its like they hate loosing a war but thats not a complain

  • @nfsmohpsp I don't think it's really for self gratification. It just makes sense. When you have a guy like Doctor Manhattan at your disposal why wouldn't you ask him to help you out in a war that you are clearly getting your ass kicked in?

  • @Reaper00140 well thats true

  • @nfsmohpsp This wasn't written by Americans.

  • In the novel, Manhattan narrates the war sequence, and sums up the Comedian better than anyone. "As I come to understand Vietnam and what it implies about the human condition, I also realize that few humans will permit themselves such an understanding. Blake's different. He understands perfectly...and he doesn't care."

  • Hey ! He deserved it ! And plus, He was a fucking selfish arrogant asshole to everyone, including sally. So don't tell me how I feel about it.

  • @mongolenpup But, the Comedian was right. Imagine if Superman didn't save someone like that. You'd never see him as anything but an ass-hole. Dr.Manhattan could have saved her and stopped him, but he did nothing.

  • @pytko3 everyone wants to project their own inhumanity onto Doc Manhattan, no wonder he leaves.

  • @jxhensley Yeah, but still why didn't he save her? He could have easily but he didn't. Same reasons why the Prime Directive in Star Trek is questionable. It makes the federation heartless dicks half the time they quote it.

  • thumbs up if right after you watched this you decided to grow a comedian mustachue

  • Man that flag is beautiful! Even in the rain old glory shows the colors of an angel.

  • The Comedian = Total Douchebag

  • @pete1210able She sliced his face with a glass bottle. What would YOU have done?

  • @gamefreak1000000 Let's put you into her shoes then,.

Some gung-ho GI joe rapes you, insults your race and country and doesn't give a shit about the baby.

Shooting a pregnant woman is a dick move, no matter how much rebellious you want to look by defending it. A slap or punch would suffice.

  • @gamefreak1000000 Turn the glass bottle into a wet noodle

  • @gamefreak1000000 Well, he deserved much more than that. He fucked her, got her pregnant and then just ditches her?

  • @gamefreak1000000 asked him to falcon punch to get rid of the baby problem solved

  • @gamefreak1000000 Are you seriously gonna compare being knocked up, left and killed to putting a deep cut in somebody's face? Get real, idiot.

  • Couldn't of Dr Manhattan of reversed time so she didn't get shot, he did it in the scene where silk spectre smashed one of his computers screeens.

  • @Ironhearted02 He didn't reverse time, he percieved what the screen was like before it was broken and rebuilt it as it once was. Since Manhattan even said he doesn't see a physical difference between a living and dead human, he doesn't see anything that needs repair.

  • 1 lu cho mat loz ban nguoi viet nam tu hao lam ha

My co sieu nhan sao van thua viet nam do bon than kinh rach loz

  • Boom double kill

  • did not see this part in vn cinemas..

  • MY FACE !!!!!

sorry sorry just had to do it lmao

  • Never was there a more fitting song for Dr. Manhattan than the Flight of the Valkyries.

  • @EI02G only becuase they're the two groups which have most heavily defeated the white american male, which by your tone, i'm guessing you are

  • @EI02G Your blatant idiocy continues to astound the rest of the public.

  • Wow, Comedian called Dr. Mahattan out.

  • @NekoHybrid he sure did lol everything the comedian said was the truth in a hypocritical way lol

  • This Movie was... idk how to describe it but it made me have a new perspective on life, I thank you comedian xoxxo thanks for the laughs

  • Your entire administration is like the worst dream you can have way out here in fantasy land sh sh sh sh sh shit for brains...

  • Do you remember PaPa when we used to at least pretend life and death, war and peace, was a serious thing??

It was a traumatic time for the country PaPa says the Press, cause Sh Sh Sh Sh shit for brains still can't find any of the homeless vets from this war as they paint a house...

    Lets Capture the moment PaPa...

    ww.youtube.com/watch?v=WANNqr-vcx0

    Jefferson Airplane, White Rabit...

    Will we survive PaPa!!!

  • 0:35 & I thought Liberty Prime was scary O.o

  • The "American Dream" everybody...

  • Another that eats mario´s mushrooms and then grow ups!!!

  • The Song is called Ride Of The Valkyries

  • Another piece of evidence that this movie was completely underrated....Jeffrey Dean Morgan was totally robbed of an Oscar for this film.

  • Best scene in the movie. Comedian is an inspiration. Troubles? Drama? Laugh it off and tell it to fuck off. Comedian style.

  • Why do i find it odd that Dr. Manhattan blinks?

  • @thegame2011able I found it odd that he actually showed rage when Eddie fired.

  • @romanlegions Good point. Why would he care about another meaningless life...lives after he's killed so many other with no remorse.

  • His face at the end of this scene is kinda revelating. He looks like watching some dead animal by the roadside. Well, considering his powers ans existence, it's understandable. Love him, though. All his scenes are godly.

  • i just realised that's denny duquette from grey's anatomy

  • Always wondered what the Vietnamese chick says before being shot. You'd think she'd beg or something.

  • thats fked up

  • song please i am begging you!!!!!!!

  • @awesomemercenary You mean "Ride of the Valkyries"?

  • @Dancing88Mike yeah thanks!!!

  • that fall of the woman the comedian killed that was the shittest fall i have ever seen in a film or otherwise

  • I just watched this for a second time and I've completely changed my views on the scene

I don't think the Comedian necessarily wanted to kill this woman, I think he was testing Manhattan

  • Just vietnam with the comedian would have been enough

  • the comedian's a realist and a nihilist.

  • that woman that comedian shot was a fucking ugly whore

  • Possibly my favorite performance by an actor of a character.

  • I was like "He won't shoot, he won't shoot..."

    *BANG!*

GOOD GOD, HE FREAKIN' SHOT HER!!! D:

  • Some of that 'bullet into steam' comic dialogue doesn't sound good when spoken, but otherwise good scene.

  • That pregnant girl was hot :(

  • The greatest film EVER made, with so many brilliant scenes kept in from the comicbooks. The most loyal comic adapt there has ever been.OK apart from the ending, but then that ending would not have worked on the cinema screen. They were right to change it.

  • @MyMREDDIE "that ending would not have worked on the cinema screen. They were right to change it."

I'm sorry, but I just don't buy that. Anything is possible in film. They just weren't creative enough to make it work. It really would not have been that tough to pull off.

  • @MyMREDDIE It's a good movie, but it's nowhere near the GREATEST movie ever made. It's pretty flawed. And the change to the ending completely missed the point of the ending in the book.

  • @OwMyBrains I do see what you mean, but dont you think that a giant squid monster would just look daft on celluloid, theres no way you could pull that off in the same tone as they had the rest of the movie. It looks great on the comicbook page but,no I dont think it would have fit in with the movie. You may think its not the greatest movie of all time and im sure you have yours, but this is without a doubt my favourite.

  • @MyMREDDIE All the action fight scenes didn't fit in. It is untrue about it being the best adaption of Watchmen because Saturday Morning Watchmen takes that but it was a pretty good one when it stayed on topic. They got a lot of the characters wrong except for Rorschach and The Comedian but it was alright.

  • the man deserved to die after killing his kid

  • @mikeeast25 Who said it was his, those bitches fucked anyone with money

  • damn, that was brilliant.

  • The comedian needed a shock/explosive collar on his neck at all times. Why didn't the authorities do something? We may never know.

  • @big1buddy The Comedian was never technically a member of the U.S. Military, and foreign courts rarely prosecute Americans, pretty much making him above the law.

  • @big1buddy Because he was a sanctioned killer, a mercenary and a useful tool. To the authorities (Nixon himself) who cares if he killed some woman in Vietnam? As long as he did his job and don't get caught, he is untouchable.

  • lol Comedian was one of my favorite characters

  • cheesiest damn scene ever...

  • Comedian may have been a big douche bag but he was a smart douche bag

  • Soldier 1 : "We are americans we have a big blue mother fucker by our side, waht have the vietcong"

    Soldier 2 : " I dont know.... Maybe a small yellow fag"

    lol

  • @rayeky12 It sounds racist

  • @diegosampaiosbt so .....what ??

  • @rayeky12 It doesnt matter, all we americans are gonna die one day just like we've killed these poor people in vietnam, iraqi, afghan

  • @diegosampaiosbt ..... yeah, you are going to die to ....lol

  • killing a pregnant women? The type of death that the Comedian received was too kind

  • @Volf99 Go fuck yourself.

  • @Thisismytrollingface dude I was all prepared to comment back until I saw you name and picture! If your gonna troll, try being less obvious about it, otherwise you might not get the rise out of people you are looking for! Good luck though

  • killing a pregnant women? The type of death that the Comedian recieved was too kind

  • Personally, I think the world was´nt ready for this movie

All people react to is the fact that Manhattans dick must be huge -_-

  • god damn she was ugly piss skin bitch.

  • I love the smell of blue dong in the morning.

  • The guys on Muarry could learn from The Comedian.

  • doesnt the comedian/ jeffrey dean morgan remind you guys of brendan frasier, the guy from the mummy movies? they have the same hair and same face shape, they could be related :o

  • @BoONeo He kind of reminds me of Robert Downey Jr.

  • Comment removed

  • Pwned Bitch

  • DITTY MOW!

  • This is why I love the Comedian. On the side of the main characters there's never usually the complete asshole on the team. The Comedian is like a knife through the movie cliche.

  • Jeffery Dean Morgan at least deserved an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor. He portrays The Comedian brilliantly, capturing his sarastic, nihilistic, pessimism and sociopathic carelessness perfectly. But in the end though, awards don't define a movie as good.

  • @Slide2671 I've never seen JDM give a bad performance (not that I've seen everything he's done) and it's nice to see him finally breaking into mainstream movies. The sad fact is genre pictures rarely win oscars and if they do it's almost always for effects or something. :)

  • @Slide2671 He doesn't even deserve a MENTION at the oscars. He's allright.

  • the reason why i say that he is the most honest one is because i do admit he is a mean and nasty fuck who kills a pregnant woman, rapes his fellow super heroes, he doesnt respect authority and most of all blames mankind for the shit that he is making a joke about but yet he is very truthful when confronted about the things he is doing like he told dr m the truth about himself and nightowl about he is the american dream turn nightmare. he is a sick contradiction but honest one at that.

  • @miklitov23 What a stupid thing to say. Please meet with someone who actually is living the American dream and who's EARNED it. You will find out that it's not as you say.

  • @miklitov23 I'm American, and i'm nothing like him.

  • @miklitov23 you could also see it from a different angle: the american dream is a PARODY - people like the Comedian have simply realized that. In our days, he would have made a very good politican.

And, yeah, that was one nasty scratch - I would have called a medic too!

  • @miklitov23 The american dream is fast becoming the whole worlds dream. Look at the Arab uprising this year for example. Although it may appear to be replacing tyranny it is based on, as you say a "vile and selfish" agenda.

  • a lot of this dialogue worked in the graphic novel but seems to forced in the movie.

i don't know if it's bad acting or if it just doesn't translate well onto screen.

the comedian muttering "gold help us all" after killing a women and his unborn son/daughter while chiding dr. manhattan for not doing anything makes it look all the more ridiculous.

  • that scene nicely shows the difference between manhattan and the comedian. both are the 2 guys who seem to care least about their fellow men. but the comedian is still emotionally involved. he actually cares about mankind, but is in desperation and deep pain due to its behavoir, which leads to his nihilistic attitude. but manhattan sees mankind as totally irrelevant, not wasting a thought about it. while comedian is cynical, manhattan is indifferent. good scene.

  • @staxstix I have to disagree. THe Comedian, while recognizing societies t
