four wheelers don't have the respect for truckers I am a truckers wife amd I been with him and found out that people think that a trucker can stop on a dime and they can't stay safe all you truckers out there and god bless if it wasn't for all of you we wouldn't have anything .
@stvnskp as a rookie driver, i want to say thanks for posting. though i may be new to this life, i know how important it is for drivers to have support from their families and friends. hope that your husband stays safe out there, along with all drivers out there.
god this song reminds me of my grandpa and uncle. my grandpa has brain damage now but he sometimes talks about the days when he was a driver, its sad to see how misserable he is in a nursing home, but my uncle used to be a driver 2 until he got into a bad truck accident in georgia, his back is all messed up and his legs arnt tht good so he dosnt know if hes ever gonna get on the road again and may God bless all those families with truckers still ou there...without trucks there would be no America
My mom is one of the best there is when it comes to truckin! i hated to see her go in the mornings and loved to see that big mack pull in the yard! she had an accident almost 11 years ago and hsnt been able to return. im almost 21 now, and have plans on gettin my cdl's! to all those families out there that have a truck driver in your family, just remember, they're doing what they love to provide for the ones the love and care about the most!!!!
My Dad was a Truck Driver for many years and this song reminds me of him so much i really miss him he has been gone for 25 years now this song makes me cry
Amazing Video and I love this song! My father is a truck driver and has been for 20 + years even before I was born. Even though I'm grown now it's never easy to see him go on long trips to deliver loads to bring money in. Mainly my little brothers take it the hardest since we all love him so much and they can never sleep until Daddy has pulled back into the driveway and is home because they worry about him all the time he's out on the road.
Truckers are among those that make up the base of the pyramid that is the United States. they support us, respect them, they're more valuable than those "capstones". (if you get what I mean)
Thanks to EVERYONE for your comments, whether you liked it or not.... Most comments have been positive.... like they say, if you bought it, a Trucker brought it!
I have to say as a trucker myself this is a good song because I miss my family when im over the road but i always call everynight to tell them I love them and think about them
It may be elsewhere in your comments, but I will thank you again for this video! My husband is a driver and my 3 year grandson asks to see this video EVERY day! God bless, and Roll on!
the best part of alabama is driving through Mobile because you got the cool amphastructure on the I-10 you get to drive accross long bridge and into the tunnel in the channels that was cool. I drove a Heavy duty pickup from Mesa AZ to San Antonio FL it was a great adventure.
well i was on my way home the other night with a full load of lumber i was tired and it was a hellish rainstorm and this song came on the radio and i turned it right up and i shifted gears a grin cracked my face and suddenly i was proud to be a truck driver again! i love this song!
my husband is a trucker who pulls hazmat. Every time i kiss him goodbye i sing this song. And everytime the phone rings i pray its him. To all the wives of truckers and all the families: never forget this song.
@wolfcannon ---- thanks.... Yes, your husband has an important job....This is the Trucker's Wife. I miss him every night he's gone on the road. Trucker's Wives: always send your man off with a hug and an "I love you"--- never take them for granted.... Same goes for husbands that have wives as truckers.... God bless

In '92 I got laid off. Mortgage to pay and 3 hungry babies counting on me. Saw an ad for JB Hunt, free training and a job at 19 cents a mile and I took it. I chased that freight for 6 years and when my wife asks, "do you remember.....", I don't, cause I wasn't there. Missed my 2 youngest babies first steps, my eldest's 1st home run. The "City Boy" is home now for good, but he remembers you boys out there push'en that xtra 200 miles on 2 hours sleep. Be safe, get home often, I got your back.
I go out with my Daddy every summer! He's on his way back. Haven't seen him in a month! He has cheated TWO rig fires! God wants him to stick around for a while. ROLL ON DADDY! I LOVE YOU!!

This made me cry when I was a kid due to a big rick my dad was in when he drove a truck. He drove trucks for over 30 years. Now it makes me cry because I said good by to my Daddy last week. We are now having to ROLL ON with out him. I Love you Daddy. RIP
ive always loved this song my dad was a truck driver for 18 years and recently joined the army being in the truck driving life is so hard i missed him alot when he was gone as a child you really miss out on alot of fun stuff other kids get to do with their dads. but im proud of my dad now he is fighting for america over in afghanistan still driving truck but these ones got big guns :)
This is the TW again. He's out on a long haul. Left at 3 am with his team driver. They both are hard working men, and I miss him when he's not here, but trust that God is watching over him and his team driver. Bless ALL you Drivers, and be safe out there.
My grandfather was a trucker for his entire life hauling everything from NASA satellites to wind turbines.. He racked up 3 million plus miles with no accidents. Great trucker, great man. RIP Grampa. You are missed everyday.
My grandfather was a trucker for his entire life hauling everything from NASA satellites to wind turbines.. He racked up 3 million plus miles with no accidents. Great trucker, great man. RIP Grampa. You are missed everyday.
@bruizer1100 dude my Uncles drove 18-wheelers for a living 1 of my uncles quit after a family Swerved into his lane at the time he couldnt stop on a dime and he ran over the vehicle there were no survivors when he seen what he done he blamed himself even tho it was not his fault his boss man walked up to him and told him it wasnt his fault he helped the Fire and Rescue team get them out and he took the keys and through them at his boss man and said ' I QUIT' and he walked off no drugs in him
"BRUIZER1100" will no longer be posting here. Everyone's entiltled to their "opinion", but to accuse truckers of ALL being on Meth is slander. Saying you don't like the video or something like that is ok.
SLANDER and profanity will NOT be tolerated. Bye, bye, "Bruizer".... get a life!
Whenever I see a trucker I think "that's an honest American, working for a living" (I do the same with farmers) and whenever I see them I wave and smile.
I find it absolutely great to do so. I mean try driving 16-18 hrs then sleeping in a stiff bed. And doing the same thing. Some truckers come home for only 1 and 1/2 days.
They are usually honest, the nicest people, and they usually have a good personality. Next time you pass on, wave and smile. (:
@bruizer1100 no they aren't. Bull crap they are. I know more a lot of truck drivers, they aren't on meth. Are you though?
I mean, look at walmart or any other store. Without truck drivers you wouldn't have those products. Truck drivers get goods from one place to another. Respect them
Thanks for posting, "bruizer" won't be back. Small minded people have empty brains!
@ Minotaur 20: I am sorry to hear about your uncle. I hope he's found another profession and that he's happy doing it. People don't understand the STRESS these Drivers are under: to get a load there on time, with Dispatchers sometimes really bearing down on them with pressure to "get 'er done".... it's NOT an easy life.
YOU are entiteld to your SMALL MINDED OPINION---- ever get popped for a DOT "on the spot" U.A.? You have little knowldege of this profession. Maybe back in the 80's. Getting busted for drugs and losing your CDL for the rest of your life hardly seems worth it. But I'll leave your post up here, since you didn't use profanity.
My thanks goes out to all the retired driver's living or dead who used to work for gordon's transports in the 1970's keepiing the united states going & making a difference in the world, robin a.cavicante said that.
My husband drove for many years but unfortunately had to give it up because of cancer. He loved the job til the end. May all of you out there stay safe and come home to your families. Thank each and everyone of you for the sacrifice every day. RIP Melvin
@stvnskp Thank you for the message.I can remember my husband speaking of a trucker he saw with a cat riding on the dash.He rode with a kermit the frog on the window waving.Hope you have a safe haul wherever you may be going.Enjoyed the video. He was a cat person as i use to raise siamese many years ago.I miss him more today 10 yrs.later.Take care of puss and "Roll On"!!!!
Thanks for the positive comments. They are appreciated.
I'm the "Trucker's Wife"... and he's out on the road right now, doing a long haul run. I miss him a lot, but we know God is watching over him and his team driver. Roll on truckers and be safe out there!
I have to put in my feelings about this. The American Trucker deserves the utmost respect from all of usfor what they do and what they give up.I should know. My dad was a trucker. He died out on the road in 1992 doing what he loved doing and what he need to do to take care of his family. I am now 47 and I still cry when I hear this song. I miss that old fart and I will always love him for what he did and what he sacrificed for his family. ROLL ON DADDY!!!!!
i am i truckers son he has taught me everything i know about trucks. I love them i work in the oil field running a haul truck, rig, bobtail, and transport so i just hope he comes home safe
@CombatShorty1979 im a grain hauler and i just wanted to not only thank you as a fellow trucker, But A big thanks for Being in the military.. be safe out there driver and come home safe. I thank your family as well for being strong for a trucker and a soldier.. keep the rubber on the road driver.
Gave up driving a few years ago. Miss it but sure don't miss skirting those 4-wheelers who think trucks stop and go like their tin foil cars do. Stay safe driver. Roll on.
Profanity and vulgar words WILL be deleted! Please, let's keep it clean, people. If you're going to post nasty stuff or your user name is nasty, skip posting here!
But to EVERYONE ELSE! THANKS FOR ALL THE POSITIVE FEEDBACK! BLESS YOU!
People dont understand that without the trucks no one wold have anything. I am a 3rd generation truck driver. It started with my grandfather. Hauled tractors for John Deere. I liked riding with him as a little boy. My Mom drives trucks. I drive to. I am proud of my little sister. She is trying to get her licence. To all truck drivers I wish to say Thank You for all your hard work and sacerfice. Thanks to you all.
I am a truckers wife they all do such great job,its really bad sitting at home when you know the weather is bad where they are but do a lot of praying.Great video thank you for sharing.God bless the truckers.
@lindalovesal Thank you for being a truckers wife its you that is the real backbone in trucking if it wasn't for you dedicated wives truckers would be few and far between keep up the good work keeping us truckers always rolling back home!!
This is the Trucker's Wife: he on the road.... HE IS OFF on a midwest run! I rode with him, so I KNOW the late nights down the interstate. I watch this one, when he's on the road, and I'm missing him really bad. He's in bad weather tonight- but we both believe God watches over him, on the road. God bless ALL Truck Drivers!
@stvnskp i am not a church going person i do however think we are looked after on the road im a truckie here in australia we are all bros sisters on the road as most dont look after us as they should with out us drivers the people will have nothing from there fav stores so to ALL drivers in any country stay safe stay well there are loved ones there waiting for us to pull into that yard at home take care all
@stvnskp I know that bad weather, I live in Missouri just praying I don't run into him or any more 18 wheelers ever in my life again, However haven driving a pick-up pulling campers I give the trucks the room they need.
I've been there.. I've driven the big trucks, I've been in most of the lower 48, minus the Dakotas. The things a truck driver sees are crazy sometimes. But if we could get more people to ride in a truck for a week or more.. I would like to believe it would help cut down on the stupidity that we have on the roads. Thank you to our "Drivers" out here. Be Safe, Keep the dirty side down. Roll on.
Amen to that, Bro! This is "the wife".... I rode with him a year and half, and was shoked at the stupidity of passenger cars. I was never afraid, though.
1. We believe God watches over us and protects us 2. Hubby's an awesome driver.
@altairwolf I agree if it was mandatory that to get your license to ride shotgun for a week in a rig then it would be a different highway out there I'm a steering wheel holder and ive seen a lot and have had to try my best not to kill some ignorant idiot that pulls over in front of me and slams on the breaks to hit the exit when they could wait the 3 seconds and when they were behind me and live!! they are suicidal on the roads try to kill their own children in the back seat !!!!
my dad was a trucker til he retired yr ago i used to ride with em. know im going to college to learn how to fix em.....keep on trucking guys and drive safe.
I LOVE THIS SONG my dad drives he drives local so he can come home every nite and c my brother and mom and me but when he was still in high school he rode long haul with my grandpa he still talks bout GOD BLESS ALL TRUCKERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for all the good comments. It's NOT about the music- it's about the hard and sometimes lonely life of a truck driver having to leave the wife (or in some cases, the Wife is a trucker) and the kids behind so Daddy can make a living....
The death of any man on the road really sucks! My husband is a trucker too, and I worry about him every day he's out there, even if he is local. He started off as OTR, and it was so hard on me and our 3 kids, they were really young when he first started off. Roll On 18 Wheeler is my unofficial theme song, as well!
I'd say that anybody that doesnt like this song doesnt not have a family member that is a truck driver. it's a great song and has a good meaning to it.
My dad was a trucker for over 28 yrs. He passed away a few weeks ago & I decided to look up this song. It brought back a lot of memories. I remember as a kid I was afraid he wouldn't make it home & my mom would get "that phone call". Thank God that never happened. My dad came off the road 2 years ago and wanted to spend time with his grandkids because he realized how much he missed with his own kids. Too bad cancer didnt give him much time with the grandkids either. Thanks for the video.
@VFA103JollyRogers Yes, too bad more people would realize that. The public considers big rigs a nuisance, but if the trucking industry quit, it would only be a couple weeks before the grocery store shelves would be totally empty!
My husband is a trucker out in the oil field in western North Dakota and people do not have repsect for anyone!! I always treat a truck as if it was fully loaded... my husbands truck loaded weighs 80,000#... Yeah lets make them drive on the soft sholder and roll!!! Please Have RESPECT for any truck you may meet you dont know what that driver left back home!!!!
My grandpa rolled his truck. We got a call and he was on the end. This braught back soooooooo many memrys. Luckly he lived to tell the story. Ofcorse it was on a icy road.
@stvnskp wish people in cars would have more respect for the trucks out there.......
I am not a trucker but know lots of them that have had cars cut them off and stop in frount of them and wunder why they get hurt when the 18 wheelers can not stop on a dime so keeep up the good work you truckers do from ab canada
we do this for u this job is not for all people to do but the ones that do thisjob go from ca t ny from nd to tx and seen some of the best places ever
I've always loved big rigs and a couple of years ago I got to ride in one I'm 32 and it was my first ride in a big rig ever, my uncle drives truck and he's the one that took me for a ride in his big rig
I drive A truck over the road out for months at a time I cant see doing anything else Proud to be an American Proud to be a father proud to be the back bone to the country.
damn you coulda have chosen Alabama Song by the doors, or Alabama Getaway by the dead, or even the cliche sweet home Alabama by skynyrd, but you went with this? boo. good vid still...go truckers.

@bruizer1100 dude my Uncles drove 18-wheelers for a living 1 of my uncles quit after a family Swerved into his lane at the time he couldnt stop on a dime and he ran over the vehicle there were no survivors when he seen what he done he blamed himself even tho it was not his fault his boss man walked up to him and told him it wasnt his fault he helped the Fire and Rescue team get them out and he took the keys and through them at his boss man and said ' I QUIT' and he walked off no drugs in him
Minotaur20 8 months ago
@Minotaur20
"BRUIZER1100" will no longer be posting here. Everyone's entiltled to their "opinion", but to accuse truckers of ALL being on Meth is slander. Saying you don't like the video or something like that is ok.
SLANDER and profanity will NOT be tolerated. Bye, bye, "Bruizer".... get a life!
stvnskp 8 months ago
Whenever I see a trucker I think "that's an honest American, working for a living" (I do the same with farmers) and whenever I see them I wave and smile.
I find it absolutely great to do so. I mean try driving 16-18 hrs then sleeping in a stiff bed. And doing the same thing. Some truckers come home for only 1 and 1/2 days.
They are usually honest, the nicest people, and they usually have a good personality. Next time you pass on, wave and smile. (:
demon25angel 9 months ago
@bruizer1100 no they aren't. Bull crap they are. I know more a lot of truck drivers, they aren't on meth. Are you though?
I mean, look at walmart or any other store. Without truck drivers you wouldn't have those products. Truck drivers get goods from one place to another. Respect them
demon25angel 9 months ago
@demon25angel
Bless you all!
stvnskp 8 months ago
@bruizer1100

I liked riding with him as a little boy. My Mom drives trucks. I drive to. I am proud of my little sister. She is trying to get her licence. To all truck drivers I wish to say Thank You for all your hard work and sacerfice. Thanks to you all.

Roll on.
altairwolf 1 year ago 3
@altairwolf
Amen to that, Bro! This is "the wife".... I rode with him a year and half, and was shoked at the stupidity of passenger cars. I was never afraid, though.
1. We believe God watches over us and protects us 2. Hubby's an awesome driver.
Bless you!
Roll on! :-)
stvnskp 1 year ago
@altairwolf I agree if it was mandatory that to get your license to ride shotgun for a week in a rig then it would be a different highway out there I'm a steering wheel holder and ive seen a lot and have had to try my best not to kill some ignorant idiot that pulls over in front of me and slams on the breaks to hit the exit when they could wait the 3 seconds and when they were behind me and live!! they are suicidal on the roads try to kill their own children in the back seat !!!!
lilwildrabbit 1 year ago
@lilwildrabbit Yeah, I agree with you 100% I've drove a truck in 46 of the lower 48 states, And trust me I've seen people do some stupid shit!!
