I randomly remembered this Cows game while my parents, my sister, my uncle and I were driving to North Carolina. So we played it all the way there, and things started to get pretty competitive... There was lots of shouting and a bit of under-the-breath cursing. Once my mother spotted cows and we all screamed and were on edge for a while, and sixty seconds later we all spotted a single cow behind a fence and we shouted "COW!" at the same time. Except for my uncle, who said, "Goat."

Last time I was on a road trip lots of things occured but we did play "cows" you get a point for every estimated 5 cows, 10 points if it is a lone cow. I spotted one in the distance and called it (I usually don't play but the others were getting cut-throat competative over it.) we thought it was a 10 pointer until we reached that spot in the road and the largest gathering of cows we have ever seen out side of a WOW convention was there. I won. The car was strangely silent after that.

ahh, I love rumble strips, too! and paint on the road that has the bumps in it. like the metered onramps during rush hour. that has the line down the middle to divide where the cars go. and when it's not rush hour and I'm using the onramp, I always always always have to drive over that. and if I miss it, I'm horribly disappointed.
