If you feel like you're about to fall, try to fall face first and bend your knees, hold your hands out in front of you (with elbows bent a little bit) and try to fall on your shins and a little bit on your knees (not completely, or you'll turn purple). If you still slip, try to keep your arms/hands out and take the small little fall and land on your forearms.

Its like any sport though, figure skaters are used to falling, I think she was pretty much fine a few min later.

it's very fun to skate and watch figure skaters skate..well i think it's also 'enjoyable' to watch the falls coz i think i'm with them(i fall and slide like these too, sometimes i think the sliding is fun LOL)though i think it's really bad and i cringe when i watch this..they even fall into the barrier and fall out of it.i love skating on ice =)

I can understand falling on jumps and throws, but how the hell have you managed to reach the level of international competition if you can't even skate or turn without falling? Remember the 1992 Olympics\? I can count on one hand the number of clean performances I saw.
