That was the best hour I've spent in a long time. Thank you for uploading this, I would have watched it sooner, but I recently converted to the Doctor Who phenomenon.
Oh god, I dont dare to ask (just started yesterday to watch doctor who season 5 [well already ready ;p to awesome]) but I have to ask... is there an expiration date for Matt Smith playing Dr. Who? I love his version of the Doctor. So funny, weird, lovely, good, YOUNG ;p Seriously. Is there something in the future, that would have them to switch the doctor? Do you know what I mean? Or could they go on as long as they wish??
@Meldis007 Matt has at least 1 more year on his contract but despite rumours he says he has no plans to leave in the near future :oD he wants to be about the for Doctor Who;s big birthday and dI do believe they have just started filming the new season. I adore Matt as the Doctor too and love River as well.....may the story gone for a good time to come :oD
See, they really go all out for this type of stuff, I live in America and if they tried to pull something off like this for an American show it would be awful
wonderful! thankyou MasterGallifrey! I saw this when it was broadcast, but was upset that my children weren't with me, and have now just watched it with them and they enjoyed every minute of it, thanks to you :) very special :)
sorry, but i don't care what you say, the most epic music ever of doctor who is literally the intro music... 11 doctors and the music is quite the same... LONG LIVE THE DOCTOR!!! :D
The longer version of the theme is fantastic. I wish they'd use that for the intro and outro on television. The whole concert is testament to how much Murray Gold has improved since starting with Who.
the universe with the Doctor, and have Murray Gold and Hans Zimmer's combined scores always accompanying our every adventure. Wouldn't that be a trip- to hear Murray Gold and Hans Zimmer (or also James Newton Howard) combine their talents and create the most hauntingly incredible themes ever heard by human ears???
EVER want to leave his side. It's just too bad it's a show and they always do, because they always go on to bigger and better things in REAL life. I would be sooooooooooo happy just living day in and day out on the set of Doctor Who, as boring as it would be to take so many takes after takes with no magic and no music, only to go home and SEE myself be transformed INTO that magical world that Doctor Who really is. God, when dreams may come- someday, for all of us. My HEAVEN would be to travel
I dream, have dreamed, all my life, of living a life enveloped in mystery and magic and wonder and especially MUSIC- just like this... a soundtrack I can be haunted by every day, make my life a MOVIE... a magical reincarnation of what all life SHOULD be... just like Doctor Who. God, what I would not give for my own destiny to lead me to such an unbelievable place, person, and everything that goes along with it. I would give ANYTHING to be the REAL Doctor's companion! It's no wonder none of them
I have been watching Dr Who since William Hartnell when the series first started and its FANTASTIC to have the series continue. BBC Wales thank you very much and I look forward to seeing more episodes aired in Australia soon.
I now know what I have to do- I have to PRACTICE MY ASS OFF on my trombone once again, finish my degree in performance, and finally move to Cardiff (where I've wanted to live ever since I can remember but MOSTLY since I fell in love with Doctor Who for the first time) and do WHATEVER it takes to become a member of the England Symphony of Wales... and then get to perform at this PROMS at some point in the future! 5 year plan sound good to anyone else??? Ok!
@jenniadriana Correction- the BBC National Orchestra of Wales- THAT'S the one I want to land a permanent horn chair in- I don't care if I land in 3rd or even 4th for the rest of my life as long as I just get to BE in it. Although, if I brought it back together and practiced as hard as I could to the potential everyone has always known I actually have- I could land 1st chair. Bloody competitive innit but still- I could do it, just made it my main dream, once and for all! Nor more dilly-dallying.
I can honestly say that I've TRULY fallen in love with this 11th regeneration of the Doctor but, more than that, I've fallen in love with Rory! Wow! Now, if Arthur Darvill is ANYTHING like his character in that, throughout his life he's gone from the meek guy we saw at the beginning of season 5 to the complete BADASS (who still cries while holding his own baby even if dressed as a Centurion) he is today, well then... I am ABSOLUTELY in love with HIM!
@daveoboy97 Search for the "extended tv version" and it should be the first result. That line comes right toward the end. I missed that part too and had to go looking for it!
I wish they did the extended version of the theme instead of the loop. Ah well, it's still pretty flippin' amazing. I so wish I could have been there. :') That's quality music right there. Ooh...pops concert idea! >: )
Oh I just loved this! And even though I do not like children much, I loved their dreamy faces when they saw clips of the show and the different alien actors.
Thank you so much for posting this. Im an American (would rather be British) : / i wouldnt have gotten to see this in this good of quality if not for you. Thanks! DW4E! (Doctor Who 4 Ever)
@KGotschall, countertenors can't be *that* expensive -- not many applications for them, especially in this economy ;) one would almost have to take any job that come along. Granted the shows that countertenors do get are amazing, like this and Cirque Du Soleil...
This was one of the most amazing things I had ever seen. While I was able to watch it on BBC America, it just does not do justice on the television screen what can be done over a digital medium like the Internet and a good computer. Thank you, thank you so much for posting this masterpiece. Now......ONTO PROMS 2012!!!!
@cainster I would rather have seen it live than on a computer screen. As a Musician myself there is something about a orchestra performance at a loss when things are digitally recorded and what not. :3
I missed all but the last 5 minutes of this when it was on BBC America because the stupid DVR didn't record it because it is not part of the Doctor Who series. So extra super tahanks for posting

I still prefer David and Chris's themes, and the video effect that accompanies it. Just don't understand lightning in the time vortex.
It was stated the Tardis flings around from lack of pilots, so why does lightning hit it.
