Yea, this is "extreme" hang gliding, not the typical soaring flight that most people go for. Very cool, but risky being that low/fast with no wheels on the base bar.

Not exactly, there was a "bonus" bag of money tied to the top of a cone, in the LZ.

I think he was the only one who tried to grab it in flight.

Going 70 mph a few feet off the ground, trying to grab something from a cone as you zip by.... I think his basetube hit the cone, and he smacked into the ground.

A small bag with a $100 bill in it.... what a thing to die over.

No, this very tallented guy, Chris Muller, died in a similar competition, the comment I initially replied to seems to have dissappeared though. The main thing with Chris's death, is they had a bag of money on a stick or cone or something, that you could grab as you flew by, he tried to do it, and his basetube hit either the ground or what the money was attached to, and he hit the ground at very high speed, killing him.

The competition Chris died in was NOT a speedgliding competition which is what is shown in this video. It was your garden variety cross country competition with a not so garden variety ending bonus.
