If I'm understanding their message correctly, they was more people to speak ASL. If that is the case then shouldn't the deaf/Deaf spread the knowledge about everything related to ASL? I have a strong desire to be fluent in ASL but it's hard to find places to get reliable information.
In ESL you sign “I have two sisters”, I would make a sign for each words. In ASL you would sign “two” and “sister” and then point to myself so you‘re signing “two sisters, me.” ESL is the right language to use and makes sense. When I was little I always had a hard time signing with a few kids who used the ASL, majority of them never made sense. When the ASL users write an essay they never made sense on what they‘re writing and trying to say because of the ASL, our teacher had to correct them.
I just start to learn ASL recently, am hard of hearing. I can sign some simple words now. I joined a great deaf daing site, ----Deafornot dot c om----, and met some good deaf/HOH friends over there. They help me to learn ASL.
I am very interest'd in learning ASL despite not knowing any deaf people or being near a deaf community out of curiosity, but more the sheer utility. 100yd away and through glass, yelling is incredibly impractical. Also the bonus of connecting your spatial processing and language centers (that's conjecture, but seems sound) and it seems to have a greater information density than english.
I am H0 of H i think its hard at first but with my friend who deaf it makes it easier and i understand more in ASL then i can explain . its funny been watcching 2 ppl talk about something and I knew what it was maybe cuz i am visual person.Just ask the person who posted it to my channel. Yes i did argue too. but thats different. But i was sick of all the paper talk back and forth so i learned it most deaf here know i understand some and make it easier for me. but those who not know i shock them,
I love this!! And it was awesome to see you in this video Anna. I just met you the other day at the Children of a Lesser God call backs! =D It was nice to meet you. Good luck...we should hear who they casted any day now. This video was great, and I completely agree that everyone should learn ASL!
I like all the points that y'all make. its strange now not having any opportunities to use my ASL. Zack is now on a mission to LA and there is NO deaf comunity here in Vegas that I can find. But i still find myself dreaming in ASL.
A couple days ago i was trying to explain something to my boss and i had NO IDEA how to express it in English! I actually caught myself doing, *SIGNSIGNSIGNSIGNSIGN* "THAT!"
I think all the comments that were made are totally valid. I think ASL is the way to go. Its simple and easy, yet takes work to get - especially for the hearing who didn't know ASL their whole life. Great Discussion.

A person who embraces ASL as their primary language will be considered a
member of the Deaf community. I find many deaf friends on a Deaf dating
site ----Deafornot dot c om---- Good luck to them!!!
