There is tons of emotion even while playing fast. Take Paganini's 24 Caprices, numerous Bach and Mozart Pieces as well. It upsets me when people hate on guitar players who can play fast. Playing fast opens up more doors for music. It is very hard to do and the discipline MUST be respected. I have always heard the guitarist who wishes he could play fast be the first to mock those who can. If you want to hear songs with chords all the way through, listen to mainstream music.
