It obviously can't be mostly passive because it has a solid body IMHO Midi can refer to a standard violin fitted with an electric pick up of some type or 'true electric' with little or no acoustic sound..
No. This is not what Midi means and this is NOT a Midi violin. This is the NS CR5 (it has 5 strings!) an electric violin with some effects. sems like some kind of wah or other filter.
My facts are right. I know this model of electric violin and I'm a pro. violinist who use effects too. You are the one who wrote: ..."as it's midi violin" and that Midi can refers to thing which it doesn't.
Now, another issue: if a violin has a solid body it doesn't mean it's active. this model Do have a preamp but other models as the WAV (for ex.) are soild body but passive. Best regards. p.s. you can contact Adam too, but if you insist I will when have time just for the sake of it
yeah!

Jaka jest różnica między WAV4 a CR5? Oprócz tego że CR ma wbudowany preamp i dokładniejszą kontrolę EQ?

There is a similar sound on my Korg PX4D it does not use midi.
The sound is kind of fun to play with but I dont really care for it much.
I enjoyed his playing and style of improv and would like to hear some other
Sounds. Nice Playing

Hi, that was awesome, could you tell me how you got that effect? what effect did you used?

each string could have different sample or each note as its midi violin
bruceleeC64 3 years ago
Actually, the NS CR4 isn't a midi violin. It's a mostly passive violin, that uses a piezo transducer.
