  • I have a playstation 3 controller and the programm "Motionjoy" and i dont have any problems at all

  • Glad to see it's not only me. Was a pain when trying to go across the thin walkway in Speed Highway, when all of the sudden Sonic SIDESTEPS OFF THE FREAKING PLATFORM to his death. *sigh*

  • unfortunately, thi happens on seaside hill and planet wisp as well T_T

  • I see the same thing with my logitech"Dual Action" G-UF13A. I'll try using x360ce when I have time to troubleshoot tomorrow. Thank you for posting this video and drawing attention to this annoying little bug :)

  • My suggestion is to get an F310 from logitech, its worked for all my game-pad games and this one included.

  • @Schoppaul Yeah, saw this video via a thread on the Steam forums, and was about to say the same thing. The *real* problem is that the great majority of PC gamepads actually owned at this point are DirectInput pads, while the game companies are mostly using Xinput for recent games. DirectInput is only *partially* compatible with Xinput, causing problems like this to happen. The F310 can do *both* while sticking with the sensible Sony-style layout. :-)

  • Problem "solved". Now I have a Xbox 360 controller.

  • AUGH! I'm having this same problem on one of Vector's music note challenges for the Rooftop Run world. Every time I have a window to strike back the note, Sonic sidesteps like an asshole. =P

I used a PC adapter for PS2 controller for most of the game. Then I switched to a Microsoft SideWinder controller. Same results.

Glad I'm not the only one stuck with this mess.

  • How did you solve this problem?

  • @hiperdedede I didn't. I will buy a Xbox 360 controller. But some people recommend of using the controller emulator (x360ce).

  • @Valet2 i can confirm that the x360ce can actually fix this problem, with a normal $15 dollar controller =)

  • update the game to fix bugs

  • @lookerup Oh really?

  • @lookerup When? The last update DIDN'T work over this problem. And sega support team answered me that there's no way to use unsupported controllers.

  • @Valet2 i've sent u a link in ur inbox

  • entering a level as 2D sonic and immediately exiting will usually resolve this glitch

also, as the owner of a P990 controller, you have a fine taste in controllers

  • if you use a thrid party controller can you still use the ps3 or xbox360 driver to fix it? i dont know if this makes any sense

  • Video responced you with a 100% fix for this issue

  • It's odd because at first I WASN'T suffering from this bug...till I rebooted...and THEN it cropped up...VERY annoying and I can only hope there shall be a fix for this.

  • If anyone is using a PS3 controller via either USB cable or Bluetooth reciever, and having this problem, set the MotionInJoy config panel to "emulate xbox360 controller" and the problem will go away entirely.

  • I thought it was problems with my control but I saw that he was perfect the problem is unfortunately the game

    : (

  • "Unfortunately your controllers are not officially supported as only the Xbox 360 controller is officially supported for this game, hence the issues you are encountering.

However some customers have reported that updating the latest drivers for their controller or installing the Xbox 360 controller drivers has solved their issue.

We are sincerely sorry for the inconvenience but we cannot assist you further on this occasion."

Okay, thanks to everyone for help. Will try these solutions.

  • One fix that worked for me was using JoyToKey, a free, small, and quick to download joystick to keyboard emulator (Google it). Use this to map all of your controller buttons to the configured keyboard controls. Then enable keyboard controls in game (enter by default). You will be able to use your controller, but the game will think you are using the keyboard getting around the problem.

  • Also in Seaside Hill

Although you can fix it with xinput emulator, there is an input delay with it.

  • @xan1242 How can i tune up this emulator? There's only shitty ini-file (at least in x360ce).

  • @Valet2 code.google.com/p/x360ce/downloads/list

  • @Valet2 Then put in the xinput DLL in the root folder of the game and the buttons can be auto set up with an internet connection, but if it fails for some unknown reason, then you have to set up the buttons manually in the ini file. To do that, set them up according to your button numbers in the gamepad configuration (just go to run and type in "joy.cpl" (no quotes).

  • @xan1242 My xinput fix doesnt delay. Video on my channel

  • @mrswizzful It is not yours fix, it is just a Xinput wrapper that responds to Dinput calls.

  • I'm getting this on multiple levels and only in certain areas. Like the start of Planet Wisp act 2, this stage, as well as others.

  • Thanks for this video, from 5onic.
