  • Clouse's story sounds a lot like our Sammy. We just built a bailey box for him today. he also has megaesophagus. Were trying to figure out how to clip the back of his walking harness (which he wear all the time) to the bailey chair so he can't get out of it. Any ideas?

  • I just got a puppy that was recently dianosed with this.. The vet told me that he needs surgery. Just wondering..did your dog every get/need surgery?! Is the surgery necessary?

  • Nawww if only he understood, for all he knows his owners are punishing him when they are actually basically helping him live.

  • Awesome!

  • awww :)

  • cute :p

  • also, is there perhaps any way you can provide him with a favorite chew toy so that way he has something to do while he waits for the 15 minutes to be up?

  • is this condition more common in GSDs? Ive only seen this condition once before online, and it was also in another GSD..

  • thats cruel

  • @mediaomodo are you stupid? he would be dead if they didnt do that

  • @mediaomodo

You're obviously retarded. Look up the word megaesophagus for dogs.

  • Sometimes life sucks, but it's still life nonetheless. Cute doggie you have, and sorry for his condition. I've had to deal with what life throws at me with my dog, insulin shots and whatnot. Long live Clouse and his clever patient owners. :)

  • Bravo. Glad to see a compassionate, loving owner despite what some people would call a disability. Loved how you explained megaesophagus too, because I knew what it was, but didn't know what would happen without the Bailey Box. Hope Clouse's digestion is better now! :)

  • i cant let you do that, Star Clouse.

  • Shut up and feed me.

  • @atravelerstale he specifically said that he already fed him....

  • @alovelylifex I watched it with no sound.

  • @atravelerstale we're you not like paying attention to what he was saying the whole video? he was basically explaining the whole time why chouse was in the box for 20 minutes.. -.-

  • @anni3goesrawr I watched it with no sound.

  • You can email me at scuddcharles@yahoo.com

  • Yes we let him have dried duck or chicken for treats... We limit it to one strip

  • if you need a bailey box built. Please email me. I will respond to it. I hardly ever check this posting. We have delt with M.E. for over 11 years now. If you need help or advise just drop me an email and I will try and help.

  • Can the dog never have treats?

  • Even though it is hard to do, you're a wonderful parent for doing this. When you love your dog I know how it's tough knowing they're uncomfortable, but for your dog to be healthy you'll do anything. My eskimo spitz just had to have his right front leg amputated, somehow I found this vid while watching other youtube videos of tripods. Just wanted to say its great seeing how much you love your animals and wish you and Clouse the best of luck!!

  • HI, I have a two year old german shepherd female, she has been diagnosed with megaE. I would love for you to build me a box, can you please email me and let me know if that is possible? she only weighs around 60 pounds, but before she got sick, she was around 85. PLEASE let me know.

    thanks

    velma

  • How do you get Clouse into his bailey box? My 75lb lab was just diagnosed with ME and I'm wondering how I'm going to get her into her future bailey box. Thanks and i hope Clouse is still doing well!

  • Have you tried using a "Thundershirt" while the dog is in the chair? You could put the shirt on him, just don't tighten the velcro till after he is done eating. This will greatly reduce his anxiety. The "Thundershirt" is also on YouTube

  • I also i have my dog diagnosed with ME. I have researched a lot and what i have found is the most ppl force their dogs to eat on a bailey chair without knowing how much portion you giving to them. Yes, you need to use Gravitiy to push down to stomach but the key thing is DO NOT FORCE them to eat. try to break down giving small portion then wait for 10 min then feed then wait another 10 min do that like for 1 hour i have friend she has a dog born with ME used this method and the dog is 12yrs old

  • So nice to see people with such love and care for animals!

  • My dachshund has this. Thank you for these videos.

  • How did you build that?

  • @minjongsoo

I build my version of the Bailey box. If you or anyone would like one built just send me an e-mail and I can get a custom made box for you.
