The ninja ranger costume was only used because it this point Saban was adapting Kakuranger. The suit was essentially an intermediate suit between unmorphed and morphed just like in Kakuranger. 10 red ranger and 1 intermediate ranger really makes no sense. Like steve said, he moved and was unreachable.
If Saban would've used the five main Dairanger costumes for season two, then Rocky would've been the red Dairanger (ryuuranger) in Forever Red. Too bad there was no blue ranger team up, cause that could've been done.

I think its more epic to have the first original red ranger than the guy who came in. I perfered season 1 before adam(fav.) tanya and rocky. Jason was just more cool in my opinion. and that voice is kickass too
From what I heard, they had origanlly planed for Rocky to be the red mmpr, but after they couldnt contact him the second time, they called in Austin St. James (Jason) to do it.
Also, I think the best solution would have been to have Rocky use the red alien rangers powers, and have the actual alien ranger be "sick" in the story line. I suggest this since the alien ranger was not shown out of costume anyways in the episode.

Funny how people talk about how Jason and Rocky would've worked out. When that wasn't even the issue. They were going to put the logo's on the symbol of the Ranger if Rocky was on it. Just like on the toys, just like on the movie. But they scrapped it when Rocky no-showed. But the true issue was between Rocky and Eric (Quantum Ranger). The reason why Eric was there was because they needed 10 Red Rangers and the Quantum Ranger was passable for Red.

Andros was on the moon at the very beginning and was okay and TJ, Cassie, Ashley, and Carlos were on moon-like planets in PRiS unmorphed and they all breathe okay. Even on some scenes in Lost Galaxy had some of the characters even walk on moon-like planets.

I gotta say Oliver did great job in the series, but I hated the way plot favorised him. In seasons 1-3 there were always a scheme that Power Rangers fuck up, The Green/White Ranger comes to clean up after them. The rest Rangers were mostly very unbalanced and unequal to the green/white one.
@firebat128 Well when Tommy came back as the White Ranger, that took away Jason's leadership. Tommy ended up being the leader when he came back, so when Rocky was added, he wasn't the leader.
I liked Rocky, but Jason was a much better Red Ranger.

@possefever Jason and Austin hate each other. Both have egos, both were arguable the shows biggest stars, and they were both young when the show started. Sadly, they still take shots at each other from time to time. But Jason does it a lot more than Austin.
i know this topic is old but why would anyone want to see steve as the red rangers, the powers transform into differents powers inside of changen the costume, to this make the first mmpr the storgest of all rangers. i rather see austin then steve and jason is a dick now that i saw this vid...
It's simple, when they got the Sword of Light from the Fartherest Galaxy, and transferred the powers, they essentially created a copy of the coins because the original rangers never demorphed (yes I know they were body doubles since the actors left). They could have used that as an excuse.
It wouldn't work anyway... how the hell would they wear the same costume? it would have to be either one. And Jason in my opinion is the best one to portray the red ranger. He's the only one that can stand up to Tommy.

Listen to this I cracked when I realized that Jason is not the first person to use the red ranger power coin out of all the power rangers he is the first red ranger but in the show he is not in the 2 part episode In the second season the wild west ranger rockys great great great grandpa used the power coin hahaha some of you may have already realized that but I just did and I thought it was funny lol so Jason wasn't the frost

@bigchicago01 I know right...no one has answered your question and after watching this video I'm like WTF? I fucking loved Jason over Tommy I was one of those kids that was heartbroken when they replaced the original three. I mean I love Aisha and Adam and Rocky is okay but wow it was hard.
I guess Austin and Jason don't get along....for whatever reason.

I gotta say Oliver did great job in the series, but I hated the way plot favorised him. In seasons 1-3 there were always a scheme that Power Rangers fuck up, The Green/White Ranger comes to clean up after them. The rest Rangers were mostly very unbalanced and unequal to the green/white one.

Everyone hated rocky. His character (not really the actor) was a total fag and took away any leadership role the red ranger had.

@firebat128 Well when Tommy came back as the White Ranger, that took away Jason's leadership. Tommy ended up being the leader when he came back, so when Rocky was added, he wasn't the leader.
I liked Rocky, but Jason was a much better Red Ranger.

can you blame zeo for having such low ratings?? I mean no ranger in zeo was from the original 5 in mighty morphon, they paid austin more money when he came back in zeo in hopes to increase ratings but didn't really help since people were still pissed that kimberly left and billy was no longer a ranger

@possefever Jason and Austin hate each other. Both have egos, both were arguable the shows biggest stars, and they were both young when the show started. Sadly, they still take shots at each other from time to time. But Jason does it a lot more than Austin.

It's simple, when they got the Sword of Light from the Fartherest Galaxy, and transferred the powers, they essentially created a copy of the coins because the original rangers never demorphed (yes I know they were body doubles since the actors left). They could have used that as an excuse.
