On a more serious note, I'm tired of these incremental refreshes. Its been basically the same thing since 2004, I want a NEW handheld, not a slightly altered version! A chip like the Tegra 2 would blow whats in the DS right out of the water, giving developers much more to work with. Instead of a 67MHz ARM9 and a 33MHz ARM7 (devs have to program for the slowest DS), you would have two Cortex A9 cores at 1GHz+, with better power efficiency to boot

@tipoomaster Yjey need to make a hand held that has a Playstation 3 "cell" built into it. I don't think it would be extremely hard to make. Just think how amazing PS3 games look with just a tiny chip like it.
The Tegra 2 processor actually has a near identical transistor count to the Cell (both around 230 million), but of course the Cell runs at a higher clock speed (nearly triple). I'm thinking a cut down and die-shrunk cell would be possible, but then why not just go with a Tegra 2 and save the effort.
It may be possible from a technical standpoint, but remember that Sony was very involved in the Cell's production and they would never licence it over to Nintendo. Besides, you would have to severely cripple it anyways to get it to draw as little power as a Cortex A9, so why not just use the Cortex A9.

I like the DS, but they do nothing to improve it. DS from DS lite.....little change was added and also made it slimmer. but wait theres more to these features if you buy a ar max flash card thing you can watch videos so the features you can have on the ds light/ dsi are phone/cammera/ internet/ game system/ video/ music and if you purchase a tv tuner then you can watch tv on it too :D so many things the dsi/ ds lite can do that the psp cant do. But after the Ds xl nintendo will probably make tv music cammera video game system phone internet all default instead of seperate

I hate the DSi with a passion that burns as brightly as ten million suns. I still have the original DS in silver, and it's so broken you can turn the top screen around, and we need to be right next to each other to Wi-Fi, but it's so much better than my sister's black DSi. They screwed it up by taking out the GBA slot, and that's the main reason I hate it and refuse to own one. How are you supposed to migrate pokemon?
For what, the DSi? If you look at the video, you will see no slot on the bottom part of either of those DSi. I mean, thank God for the giant screen, but still.

Why are people so pissed at it, its like 1 inch x half an inch x an eighth of an inch more in size then the DS and its 0.22 pound heavier. an inch bigger! If you think an inch will make unportable you must be a gnome or already have a DSI.

The November rumour said it will be loosley based on "The Tegra" but most likey a cutdown custom designed tegra as the Off The Shelf Tegra GPU can easly be hacked for Homebrew/Illegal Emulation. Just watch this FAT ugly oldschool tech DS flop hard on it's face like the Gameboy Micro.
there is actually one other feature: Games already downloaded to it. Not games like Spirit Tracks or Scribblenauts, games like the ones from dsi ware.

people i have a question. im in japan right know my friend had a dsi xl. It looks superb. just because you didnt hold it in your hands doesnt mean it is shit it is just awsome. thinking of it this way what should i buy a dsi or the xl? I mean ill take it places and ill just carry it. I comes witha case that holds the stylus. i have 200 bucks on desk. life savings. is it worth it? i dont care size are quality.

I like the DS, but they do nothing to improve it. DS from DS lite.....little change was added and also made it slimmer. DS lite to DSi.....that's where a big change comes in but not worth my time to pay for it. Now the DSi to DSi XL....now they want to make everything bigger including the console? barely any change but how big it is, and honestly is it worth an extra $20? not really.

@AWKvideos0 I totally agree ... I got the old DS first (back in the days when it first came out and was only available in like two colours or so ... That must have been ... about spring 05?) and changed it for the lite when that came out (again: black and white was all you could choose from) like one to two years later, cause I had always thought of the DS as far to big and bulky. But what the hell are they doing now? Tossing out one version of the same thing after another?

@XxEverybodyxXxliesxX nintendo ds are gonna be like psp's. when they first came out it was huge then few upgrades like it sizes, then no one really care even the psp go.
nintendo needs to improve their ds graphics and sounds. i'm not saying their bad but something new that worth buying. its 2010 360 and ps3 (IDK about the Wii)already introduce what we expect in the future(natal and arc)what about the handhelds? sizes? lol lame

I agree with you! Freaken nintendo should have made that screen "WIDE SCREEN" not square plus the graphics suck and its such a rip off. Plus the original former dsi is not that great either because why would i wanna use the lame camera on that when i could use my awesome HD digital camera and why would i wanna use the browser on that when i can use my lap top, ipod touch or computer... Like seriously wtf. Nintendo ds lite was the only accomplished system nintendo has ever had as a hand held.

and with a camra you can't make your photos have a mario hat drawings or look like u have 2 heads or something for free usually plus it has a shop channel like on the wii and you can make awesome looking cartoons that look like a pro did it but they are easy to make with sound and everything then you can post them on a website called hatena for the whole world to see

srry ran out of room to type anyway theres more a dsi can do you can put an sd card in it for storing pictures and record your voice play around with how your voice sounds and put your music in it to listen to it like an ipod or something and play around with how the music sounds too there are many possibillities to the dsi trust me i used to think the same way about the dsi that you do dude :D

why have internet on a ipod touch i have it on my desktop :P. See how stupid you sound, nintendo rocks example you spend like 200 for a psp to listen to music watch vids go on the internet when really the nintendo dsi and the nintendo ds lite can do that too of course for the ds lite you need a r4 to make it go on the internet but since the dsi has a browser now you dont have to do that so instead you can use the r4 for making your ds into a phone/game system/ cammera/ internet access/ music.

but wait theres more to these features if you buy a ar max flash card thing you can watch videos so the features you can have on the ds light/ dsi are phone/cammera/ internet/ game system/ video/ music and if you purchase a tv tuner then you can watch tv on it too :D so many things the dsi/ ds lite can do that the psp cant do. But after the Ds xl nintendo will probably make tv music cammera video game system phone internet all default instead of seperate

If you don't have a DS then this will be a good purchase I'm actually thinking about getting this one just for the new Pokemon Heartgold/SoulSilver games....My 3 siblings 15yr and 10yr old brother and 6yr old Sister have a regular DS lite...But I might finally get a DS like them and we could all play pokemon HeHeHe I feel little again I miss everything pokemon from Red/Blue to Gold/Silver *sniff* *sniff*

@abser703 ipad was announced a few weeks ago whereas dsi xl is being sold for quite some time now. check the date that the video was posted...
besides u cant compare the two companies. one is mainly focused on computer based software and hardware development while the other develops game consoles and video games. they just follow the same rules when it comes down to marketing and sales

I hate the DSi with a passion that burns as brightly as ten million suns. I still have the original DS in silver, and it's so broken you can turn the top screen around, and we need to be right next to each other to Wi-Fi, but it's so much better than my sister's black DSi. They screwed it up by taking out the GBA slot, and that's the main reason I hate it and refuse to own one. How are you supposed to migrate pokemon?

Loved the DS, DS lite looked way better so I got it. DSi never temted me at all. But this, this is like what the ds has needed like forever. Bigger screens. As the fanboy I've been, I've always been like "dont need bigger screens, this is fine by be" but ofcourse that was a lie. Dont know if I'd buy it though, but it is indeed brilliant

Really just a bigger system for old people. They want to target the older crowd because they fall under the so called "casual" crowd. Unfortunately they forgot to add the damn GBA slot and increase the screen resolutions while their at it.

Why are people so pissed at it, its like 1 inch x half an inch x an eighth of an inch more in size then the DS and its 0.22 pound heavier. an inch bigger! If you think an inch will make unportable you must be a gnome or already have a DSI.

they actually wanted to just make an alternative for older people to match the psp's screen and to give the consumer a 'choice' like the gba sp and gba micro... and we all know how that turned out.

On tuesday Jan 6 Nintendo President admitted there pretty much making a handheld Wii (Better graphics and motion sensors) But it may use Nvidia GPU making devopelors re-port games to it. The November rumour said it will be loosley based on "The Tegra" but most likey a cutdown custom designed tegra as the Off The Shelf Tegra GPU can easly be hacked for Homebrew/Illegal Emulation. Just watch this FAT ugly oldschool tech DS flop hard on it's face like the Gameboy Micro.

there is actually one other feature: Games already downloaded to it. Not games like Spirit Tracks or Scribblenauts, games like the ones from dsi ware.
