Nice review. But you forgot to mention that Carol's daughter product have no chemicals in it! Easier choice for me. Pantene Pro-V is not in the same league as any other natural product. Check the ingredient label!!

the problem with most commercial shampoos, conditioners, etc., is that many companies put a load of crud in it, like silicones and parabens. it makes your hair feel softer instantly, but that's only because it's got a layer of wax over your hair strands. it dries your hair out later and sucks all the moisture out.

in general, it's a better idea to use as little drying ingredients as you can. it depends on what kind of hair you have, how dry it is, and how curly or straight it is.

Let me just say that I'm glad someone did this comparison. I too use Pantene Pro V ( regular with built in conditioning in the white bottle) and I love the results everytime! Been using it for over 10yrs and still love it! After researching Carol's Daughter online I how expensive it was. Now, I'm all for supporting Black businesses, but I refuse to buy Carol's because Pantene indeed is so much cheaper. LOL Thanks for sharing your research. Peace

I switched to Carol's daughter and i am loving it! it's so smooth and sometimes i air-dry it and when i'm between relaxers, my hair is actually really wavy, if i twist it with my fingers, I get really really nice curls. I think every black girl out there needs to go get some CD because it's amazing!!!

i'm a hairstylist and i hate pantene. Most peple don't realize that pantene has wax in it. That is why the hair feels soft after using it. but after awhile you'll find that you'll have a build up from the wax and it'll have to be stripped off. plus carol's daughter is sulfate free so it doesn't strip the hair of it natural moister.

I have never seen a detangler for relaxed and natural, but they do have a detangler in the regular line...FYI some people have said some of the ingredients in pantene are not so good. I like it though

After talking to a clerk at Walgreens, it looks like Pantene is trying to simplify/trim down their lines to just 3-4. When I realized that, I raced to grab as many bottles as possible (most on closeout for $2-3) from drugstores (Walgreens & CVS), Targets and grocery stores. I'm set for 2 years probably! Maybe this is a good time to switch to Carol's Daughter. Good luck!

macy's also sells carol's daughter. i dont know if that is the place you couldnt remember but that is where you can also find it. also i completely agree with the hair smoothie! i just washed my hair with it and my hair feels soo good right now! my hair is natural soft but when i got out of the shower it make my hair feel lighter actually and softer. im so used to my hair feeling weighed down by different products that i was really surprised how light it feel and how it flows.

Actually, what most people do not know is that the chemicals used in shampoos to cause them to lather strips the hair of its natural moisturizers. I was actually very happy to hear that Carol's Daughter shampoo gives little lather. Enjoyed the video though. Thanks...it helps me make better purchasing choices. :)

Hey I was wondering if you've ever used regular patene, reason being cause I was wondering if the patene for natural or relaxed hair was really any different than the regular cause I use patene and aphogee hair products. I wonder though what carols daughter would do to my hair cause my hair is permed but it is still very curly and I wear it both ways straight or curly!! I haven't ever used the regular one. I am not an expert on their products, but i know that the curlier or coarser your hair is, the more moisture it needs in order not to break off. I am pretty sure that the relaxed and natural has more moisture holding ingredients for that hair type. I heard Aphogee is really good too

I replied to you earlier, but it didn't go thru (pc pain). Relaxed hair is hair treated by a cream chemical that permanently straightens it. African Americans and Dominicans use it the most. Sorry about that. I added an annotation hehe!
