I don't think you race so you are not familiar how the rules and track ethics are. Going to the stewards is perfectly acceptable and encouraged actually cuz they are the ones who will police all. Aside from that, complaints are heard in the Driver's briefings or meetings. Aside from that, if you personally go to the press or another team and bad mouth their driver like what Danica did, you're bound to get the reaction that just happened. I've seen fights (with guys) happen that way.
