My point is that much of the testing done on animals is of no real use or benefit, as in cosmetic testing. So that your pretty (?) little eyes don't burn shampoo is injected into the eyes of puppies, kittens, rabbits, rats, and so on.So I tell YOU what, dear, if you're raped, or someone you know is raped and/or murdered, don't be expecting jail time for the piece of human waste responsible. After all, he/she has rights too and we all know what goes on in prisons. Please, Chimp crap has more value!
IM SO GLAD THEY GOT OUT OF THAT HELL HOLE. ANIMAL TESTING IS LIKE NATZI BEHAVIOR..WHEN I WATCHED THE POOR MACACTE MALICK HAVE HIS SCULL TAKEN AWAY WITHOUT CORRECT ANASECTIC I REALIZED JUST HOW TERRIBLE LIFE IS. IT REMINDS ME OF JOSEPH MENGELE AND ITS GOING ON RIGHT NOW..I DONT REALLY CARE FOR CHIMPS MUCH BUT IM SO GLAD THEESE POOR DEVILS MADE IT OUTA THERE..IT MAKES ME SO MAD AND I BUY NOTHING FROM PROCTOR AND GAMBLE WHO ORDER MANY OF THESE TESTS HERE IN UK
I care deeply for the moral truth but I must see that the logic has lead me to believe that animal testing is justifiable if it is for a life-saving reasons and the amount of animals tested is less than the lives been saved, for e.g.
100 rats are tested and a cure for a disease is discovered which saves 10s of 1000s of people, eitherway anyone who uses cures discovered through animal testing should see these animals as heroes for the horrors they have gone through so these people could live.
@perrynelson777 my best guess is that because they have been isolated from their natural environment for their whole lives, that they may not be able to fully develop in a way that would allow them to survive in their completely isolated natural habitats. Sad, but at least this can be a comfortable compromise.
lol, medical science will come to an abrupt halt if testing on animals is prohibited. I guess the concerns of the privileged first world for animals (mostly rats are used for testing) is more important than the potential medical breakthroughs that could save millions of lives in the Global South.
@mdoob11 That's an exaggeration, and you aren't even considering that experimentation on CHIMPS is forbidden on almost everywhere, except... one country in Africa and... USA.
Chimps, not rats. And that could be the case with every great primate, and most cetaceans and cephalopods. Their intelligence is too great for us to inflict suffering on them.
@publicano777 I would sooner test on a chimp than on a human. Testing on animals is necessary for medical progress, and is responsible for a number of significant breakthroughs in medical science. What is the alternative, to stifle medical science? Do those who oppose animal testing oppose farming chickens, cows, etc? Do they oppose capitalist industrial development, which is actively engaged in destroying ecosystems and putting nearly a quarter of species at risk of extinction?
@publicano777 The number of animals harmed that are used for medical progress is a pin on a mountain compared to those harmed by other human practices, from farming to environmental destructive practices, and arguably it is the most important.
@publicano777 Both the use of chimps for medical testing and the potentially catastrophic consequences of climate change involve concern for decisions that put humans and/or animals at risk; as such, they are both eminently ethical, and political for that matter. Concern for these chips but disregard for climate change and its associated disastrous consequences is hypocritical to say the least, not to mention myopic.
@publicano777 But I'm afraid we're losing our footing. I am suggesting that 1) we need to use animals for medical research. There is a point where the choice is either to test on humans or animals, or to not test at all, and as an anthropocentrist, I am OK with using animals so long as it is relatively painless and so on. 2) If you and others are concerned for the welfare of animals (and humans), it is far more practical to oppose large-scale farming, environmentally-destructive capitalism, etc.
Apparently none of you guys have heard of the prison industrial complex. The system is set up in a way that it dehumanizes people so that they can no longer function in our society, making it easier for them to be placed back inside the prison system. And you think that it's OK to make them test subjects? Ever hear of the Tuskegee experiments???? You're proposing we go back to that??? Do some fucking research before you form your opinions.
Why does everyone have to go on a hate rampage, fuck this fuck that etc... yes the people that done this previously were wrong to do so, but enjoy this for what it is, human kind does have deceny, even if not shown enough, and these creatures are able to live the rest of their lives in a beautiful way. It was not a perfect beginning for them, far from it, but enjoy the ending that it was for them by people who had a heart. Most moving piece of footage xxx
I could not agree with you more!!!! I dont care what anyone says, but criminals hold no value in society. And majority of the time rehabilitation never works. It sickens me that we kill/put down dogs when they attack humans, but we don't put down humans when they kill/torture/harm or abuse animals. Without them we wouldn't be here. It's the criminals that should be used as test subjects.
@Nyoni4life I must admit that I am in agreement with you. I happen to live in South Africa and we're constantly shown images of people struggling to survive. Men, women, children....all over Africa, and all leave me cold. But when it comes to animals suffering, and so totally NEEDLESSLY, I boil with rage, frustration, and dispair.
That's nice that you don't move an inch when "humans die." You are a human. Just find somebody with your mindset, hang out with them, and join PETA or something and fuck animals. Be a furry.

Sure. I can read between the lines and I am borderline apologetic for my hostility but anyone would think you were generalizing there. I mean animals commit savagery too. Nature is scary. A dog will kill a raccoon for sport and rip out its guts, shit and piss all over it, and then proceed to dance on it in order to mark its territory.
good idea, let loose a bunch of chimps that have been injected with HIV and hepatitus. eek!. by the way anybody seen that video of those chimps that were given machetes long time ago and that group is still using them to this day passing down how to use that tool to its young? CHIMPS WITH MACHETES=SCARY ASS SH*T
animal testing will probably never go away in fact its being done in every state in the USA but they keep it under wraps so people don't freak out, not saying its a good thing just that stopping it would be very difficult. Just test on rats no one cares about them at all.
@ewmess Excuse me! I happen to LOVE rats! People need to get "freaked out", as you say. If more people were confronted by the horrendous images of animals being tested on for headache pills to lipstick and eyeliner, maybe there wouldn't be as much testing going on! On the label of every bottle there should be pictures of what animals went through to put that bottle of perfume, or whatever, in your hand.
Anyone poking fun at something like this makes me seriously question how humans can be considered the smartest of all God's creatures! Testing on animals is diabolical and unforgiveable! Rather use the prisoners sitting in jail for rapes, murders, etc. Alternatively, the idiots writing trash about this incredible event would make good test subjects. The scientists could start by disecting their brains to find out if they were born stupid or just worked hard to become stupid!
@Avidsta316 I'd say that testing on humans is still testing on animals, so it's not exactly the right thing to do either. I think a general rule against causing bodily harm to any contextually innocent individual is a good place to start.
@vanglorious I'd be inclined to agree with you on the surface but then, if I delve a little deeper into it, I have to say that I find it a stretch of my imagination to try and think of a truly innocent human being. I am a Christian (not a worldly one but an actual Biblical Christian) and from what I can see, animals are completely without sin. They are incapable of sinning and as such are the only true innocents on this planet.
@Avidsta316 Use people over animals for testing? Are you insane? Doesn't matter what they did. People, no matter how disturbed, will always be worth more than an animal. I'd only consider people like Osama and Hitler to be shot rather than imprisoned.
@Avidsta316 if it wasn't for animal testing, you probably wouldn't be alive today. im not saying its right, just saying whats true. many of the vaccines, medications, that have probably saved your life at one point and you don't even know it has at one time tested on animals, be it hamsters, chimps, whatever.
@DjssLICK alright . And I (human) never said they poke them or whatever so why are you clarifying that to me? I just asked if you (human) knew if you do great .
@scelinee LOL... why do you have "human" in brackets?? I did it because I did not wanna use random pronouns, for my sentence wouldn't make sense, because I used "they" for both humans and animal.
I have no idea why is it in your sentence.
And yes You were implying that that they treat them badly. Between you and I and everyone else who read this comment, they've spend millions/billions of dollars on those chimpanzees than on any hungry kid.
This is wonderful to see.....animals should NOT be used for testing.....such gorgeous loving animals..!!! why dont we use no good guilty humans, murderers, paedophiles etc... to test things on not innocent animals...!!!
@scelinee That's just the point... I DO know how they are treated. They do not poke at them with sticks, nor beat the crap outta them; they (humans) are governing by strict code of ethics by preventing death AND pain. They (humans) don't just jam a knife up their ass, nor rip their heads, suck their bloods and wear their carcasses. They have to be anesthetized for any invasive surgery whether general/local. For behavioral study they(animals) are rewarded.
@DJssLICK noone would ever conduct tests on humans to save the life of an animal, what the hell makes us more important than any other living thing on earth?
at first when they started peeking out and then preparing to come out i thought they looked so much like humans would react and how we were similar til i saw the arm come from above then i remembered their gorillaness.
I'm really sorry for saying this but the world really needs to end. To much suffering going on. Those poor animals suffering everyday of their lives for us? Can you even imagine what they go through?
That wasn't a hug of delight, it was a hug of insecurity. I'm sure they didn't know what to think of such a big new open space after being penned up for so long, but they seemed to get the hang of it pretty quickly.
All medication, all therapy, most technology, if it wasn't for animal testing we would still be cavemen living under a rock, with higher death rates, more crazy ass ppl running around with Alzheimer and other fucked up mental and physiological disorder without full knowledge of their condition. SO PEOPLE NEED TO SHUT THE FUCK UP!! If you are so against animal testing, burn your fucking house down dump all ur medication and go live under a rock with a raccoon!
@DJssLICK ---most animals are nothing like humans physically or anatomically----I believe they should test on humans We have plenty of murderers child molesters and the like that they can use! Hell they infected the blacks with syphillis and then sat back and watched what it did to there bodies The were not criminals
Hey,you could be a human test subjest Then our medicine would not have so many side effects or kill us
@Suzie452 "I believe they should test on humans", You said it! Why are you telling me to I should be a test subject?? First of all, I never said MOST.
Second...Wait why am I arguing with u?
Please take a course on some human anatomy before you talk crap!
@Suzie452 You know what, I will argue with you!!! Braty bitch like you gets under my skin!! 1. Animal testing has helped to develop vaccines against diseases like rabies, polio, measles, mumps, rubella and TB.
2. Antibiotics, HIV drugs, insulin and cancer treatments rely on animal tests. Other testing methods aren't advanced enough. 3. Operations on animals helped to develop organ transplant and open-heart surgery techniques.
Even us humans are living in a cage just a bigger one!, but the people responsible for this should be given a rather big boot in the baws. Cruel evil Bastards
i feel bad even when thinking about the "experiments" that they had to go through sometimes humans do tend to go too far, its not fair when it comes to medicines t can be a tricky topic but animal curelty is just so unneccary i mean in those youtube videos where they are loked up in those tiney cages i mean if we are gonna use them to find cure for medicnes the least we can do is treat them respect and kindness
Here's a simple example. Diabetes meds were developed with the use of animal testing. How many of you are willing to sacrifice the millions of children, grandparents, and indeed loved ones that survive thanks to these advances? RE: Human testing. Perhaps you are not aware that human trials are ALSO a part of an medication requirement prior to certification. Those that talk about using criminals instead.. May I remind you about Every American's birthright against cruel and unusual punishmnt?
@deejayroyalt1 If they were straight for the lab that they were in for 30 years, they would have NO WAY of surviving in the real jungle. They would be dead, they have little to no knowledge about surviving in the real animal, they probably dont know how to find food shelter ect. If you search on google "monkey experiments" you will see what things they endure. Being in a captive big natural like shelter is like heaven and getting a second chance at life.
@littledeville83 I realize they wouldn't survive in the wild after 30yrs as a lab animal, but they're not actually being FREED as it says in the title. Besides, do you really believe that going from one cage into another larger cage with walls painted to look like your outside is "getting a second chance at life"?
@deejayroyalt1 Yes the title is misleading. I see what you are saying but if I was stuck in a tiny box and had experiments tested on me nearly everyday, that cause me pain, I would really think that a bigger cage, with space to move around, security and safety would be far better than the tiny box. It may not be the "ideal" situation for normal animals but the situation given it is a "second chance". We still dont know the complete story ither, so they might be released at a later time
@matchbox you know your first comment says that it's only a few animals that we tested! Your wrong! We have destroyed the population of some animals just because we wanted to test on animals and then we just kept on dong it! Well u keep on saying humans are not animals well guess again just because we can do a lot of thing that other animals cant doesn't make us not animals! And if you look around out side, all you can see is trash. And trees that animals live in are destroyed because of us ani
WHO THE FUCK IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS???? who could do that to creatures who so obviously feel "human" emotions and have been tortured their whole lives??
humans are FUCKED UP. they kill and torture eachother for no reason, and take resources from those who need them and give them to those who don't. everyone knows that.. but animals dont start wars and fuck eachother over. and for the record, this isn't "shocking" to me, it's just sad. it made me sad, so i commented on it. and you, being a typical human, thought of something to say in response for no good reason other than to mentally stroke your own dick.
This is a very complicated matter. Animal experimentation is inevitable if we want to progress in biosciences, but it has to be and is very well controlled to be as ethic as possible. But, as the video says: 30 years without seeing daylight?? That's just an unnecessary cruelty and nobody capable of the slightest empathy can deny this, when you see how they act... There's so much of us in them and even if there wasn't any similarity, this would still be just WRONG
@addo51 What the hell's that got to do with chimpanzees being forced to spend their lives in tiny cages, never seeing daylight or being allowed any freedom at all, and having cruel experiments constantly conducted on them? Sometimes animals in the wild do kill each other, not just chimpanzees, but it's often over territory, etc. They can also have strong family ties, be very loving, etc. So what's your problem????
If you don't like animal testing, throw away al your medicine. Ofcourse a animal test free world would be utopia and the aim of most tests is to minimize the number of animals used of replace them alltogether using human cell line testing. In most countries animal testing is so well regulated and not like the horribles pictures you get to see all the time and simply make you condone it by using shock propaganda. No offence but these chimps seem to be in pretty good shape after 30 years.
I cried when I saw this video. Freedom at last! Let us hope they live in comfort and with out fear for the rest of there lives. These intelligent creatures deserve the best life now. The world is a rotten place, the more I look at it the more rotten it becomes. Great video.
@matchbox555 You're a moron, animals are the same as humans we all live, breath.. and btw there are WAY more humans in the world then animals so why test on them...?? 50 years ago there were 3 billion ppl, now there are 7,2 billion. we should test on humans not animals.
@matchbox555 humans are animals. humans view themselves as superior due to what we find important, just as a lion would see their qualities as superior, and as a result their species. same with everything. humans are weak bitchy fucks. grow up kid, stop eating kfc.
@matchbox555 when did humans stop being animals? + creativity is only important to humans, so it doesn't actually make us objectively better. +i didn't say it did, i said it would.
No, humans ARE also animals. Just because we are different in some ways doesn't mean we are not animals. We are also part of the tree of life and evolved like all other living things from simple organisms over billions of years.

AndrehNowaski 6 days ago
@Avidsta316 if it wasn't for animal testing, you probably wouldn't be alive today. im not saying its right, just saying whats true. many of the vaccines, medications, that have probably saved your life at one point and you don't even know it has at one time tested on animals, be it hamsters, chimps, whatever.

@DjssLICK alright . And I (human) never said they poke them or whatever so why are you clarifying that to me? I just asked if you (human) knew if you do great .
scelinee 4 months ago
@scelinee LOL... why do you have "human" in brackets?? I did it because I did not wanna use random pronouns, for my sentence wouldn't make sense, because I used "they" for both humans and animal.
I have no idea why is it in your sentence.
And yes You were implying that that they treat them badly. Between you and I and everyone else who read this comment, they've spend millions/billions of dollars on those chimpanzees than on any hungry kid.

DjssLICK thats right but do you know how they treat those animals dont you honey?
scelinee 4 months ago

@DJssLICK ---most animals are nothing like humans physically or anatomically----I believe they should test on humans We have plenty of murderers child molesters and the like that they can use! Hell they infected the blacks with syphillis and then sat back and watched what it did to there bodies The were not criminals
Hey,you could be a human test subjest Then our medicine would not have so many side effects or kill us

DJssLICK 5 months ago
@Suzie452 You know what, I will argue with you!!! Braty bitch like you gets under my skin!! 1. Animal testing has helped to develop vaccines against diseases like rabies, polio, measles, mumps, rubella and TB.
2. Antibiotics, HIV drugs, insulin and cancer treatments rely on animal tests. Other testing methods aren't advanced enough. 3. Operations on animals helped to develop organ transplant and open-heart surgery techniques.
Please PICK UP A BOOK...!!!

i feel bad even when thinking about the "experiments" that they had to go through sometimes humans do tend to go too far, its not fair when it comes to medicines t can be a tricky topic but animal curelty is just so unneccary i mean in those youtube videos where they are loked up in those tiney cages i mean if we are gonna use them to find cure for medicnes the least we can do is treat them respect and kindness

May I remind you about Every American's birthright against cruel and unusual punishmnt?

williampaoli 5 months ago
@williampaoli LMAO!
deejayroyalt1 5 months ago
@deejayroyalt1 If they were straight for the lab that they were in for 30 years, they would have NO WAY of surviving in the real jungle. They would be dead, they have little to no knowledge about surviving in the real animal, they probably dont know how to find food shelter ect. If you search on google "monkey experiments" you will see what things they endure. Being in a captive big natural like shelter is like heaven and getting a second chance at life.
littledeville83 5 months ago
@littledeville83 I realize they wouldn't survive in the wild after 30yrs as a lab animal, but they're not actually being FREED as it says in the title. Besides, do you really believe that going from one cage into another larger cage with walls painted to look like your outside is "getting a second chance at life"?
deejayroyalt1 5 months ago
@deejayroyalt1 Yes the title is misleading. I see what you are saying but if I was stuck in a tiny box and had experiments tested on me nearly everyday, that cause me pain, I would really think that a bigger cage, with space to move around, security and safety would be far better than the tiny box. It may not be the "ideal" situation for normal animals but the situation given it is a "second chance". We still dont know the complete story ither, so they might be released at a later time
littledeville83 5 months ago
@littledeville83 Very well put. I can see your point. Whatver their fate I wish them the best. .=)

MeAnGeNe1998 5 months ago
@matchbox you know your first comment says that it's only a few animals that we tested! Your wrong! We have destroyed the population of some animals just because we wanted to test on animals and then we just kept on dong it! Well u keep on saying humans are not animals well guess again just because we can do a lot of thing that other animals cant doesn't make us not animals! And if you look around out side, all you can see is trash. And trees that animals live in are destroyed because of us ani

humans are FUCKED UP. they kill and torture eachother for no reason, and take resources from those who need them and give them to those who don't. everyone knows that.. but animals dont start wars and fuck eachother over. and for the record, this isn't "shocking" to me, it's just sad. it made me sad, so i commented on it. and you, being a typical human, thought of something to say in response for no good reason other than to mentally stroke your own dick.

Have any of you seen how chimps act in the wild? It's brutal. They kill each other all the time, often in ritualistic fashion including cannibalism.
addo51 5 months ago
@addo51 What the hell's that got to do with chimpanzees being forced to spend their lives in tiny cages, never seeing daylight or being allowed any freedom at all, and having cruel experiments constantly conducted on them? Sometimes animals in the wild do kill each other, not just chimpanzees, but it's often over territory, etc. They can also have strong family ties, be very loving, etc. So what's your problem????

free2rhyme0808 5 months ago
If you don't like animal testing, throw away al your medicine. Ofcourse a animal test free world would be utopia and the aim of most tests is to minimize the number of animals used of replace them alltogether using human cell line testing. In most countries animal testing is so well regulated and not like the horribles pictures you get to see all the time and simply make you condone it by using shock propaganda. No offence but these chimps seem to be in pretty good shape after 30 years.

and yes, yes i have.
iamkatiekay 5 months ago 2
@iamkatiekay
we not animals because we can be CONSCIOUSLY creative
we can change our own environment to increase our numbers and power
no other species can do that
other species are VICTIMS of their environment.. we are MASTERS of it
we are OBJECTIVELY superior to animals because we can understand them but they cannot understand us..we are above them
don't worry kid, one day our awesome abilities will develop methods to test without using living organisms, i.e. with computer simulations.
matchbox555 5 months ago
