I don't even know why they overplay that car so much in this anime anyways. The EVO and the Impreza are about the same calibur.

Evo - more aggressive handling than Impreza

watch the Top Gear video where they compare them. The STi is called a "brute" while the EVO is called "a jet with wheels". While they have similar drivetrain/powertrain configurations, they are 2 completely different cars.

The EVO is above the Impreza, the evo was designed for rally and cornering, the impreza is played out to be better then it is in thie anime

no chance. Remember, tak's been practicing repeatingly everyday with the 86 to find a weak point of the impreza, and yet he uses the same weakness and fixes it when he drives the impreza. It seems as though whether or not he drives the 86 or the impreza, both will have the same results.
