guys plz don't call me a n00b for this i know this game preety well but what does he mean by no guard???(i know growth abilities) i mean doesn't guard mean pressing the square button to block or is there another ability which boosts your def or sth when your under 25 hp??? can someone answer without being a douche? i would really appriciate that :P

rather than deal hp damage marluxia puts a timer on your head, and his attacks reduce the timer. should the timer hit 0, you lose the battle, i think.

Guard Break (Apul's already shown this, it has a SPECIAL uninterruptible startup)

Explosion (will parry all attacks except for overhead attacks such as Larxene's Thunder)

Also the following are some of the attacks in which Sora will NOT suffer a deflect with his keyblade.

Aerial Spiral

Aerial Finish (the first two hits)

Slap Shot (actually uninterruptible, but the next attack determines whether you'll suffer a deflect from meeting with an enemy's attack)

Dodge Slash (if you have COUNTERGUARD equipped, if you clash with an enemy attack with this and keep hitting attack you can use COUNTERGUARD)

Slide Dash actually has a special built-in Guard whenever you clash/meet with an opposing attack. If you want proof, use Slide Dash at the front of a Large Body/Fat Bandit (without them attacking). Sora does NOT stagger from his Keyblade, he automatically enters a Guarding stance.

When he uses Marluxia's own weapon, he gets back numbers on the doom count above his head and does little (if any) to no damage. The one with his keyblade does much more damage and doesn't affect the doom count.

it seems that this game and these battles are not supposed to play like that, so this might be the only one available fighting with these restrictions, at least i cant find a way to do others, you cant dodge all attacks, even in theory.

That's called a parry, it's what happens when Sora's attack matches that of the enemy, his weapon will get repelled and cause him to be pushed into a guarding stance. Apul didn't block once, he just has good timing for attacks.

Apparently, you have never parried an attack.

Well, guarding is like a long version of parrying, so it uses the same animation at the end.

So, if it's like that, you can still Counter Guard.
