  • babe where d hell did u get a 450 degree iron?

  • @dimestwins - The curling iron I used with the Organix treatment I bought online at folica.com. That iron is by Solia. I also have a Hot and Silky that heats up to 450 that I bought at Sally's.

  • The technique relaxes hair by using a protein-filled solution on hair, then applying a hot iron to it. It's a little controversial, though, because the solution includes formaldehyde, a known carcinogen. Since I'm a hypochondriac, I run when I see the word "carcinogen," but that hasn't stopped the procedure from becoming popular

  • My personal opinion on this product is it will make your hair noticeably smoother, but if you want salon quality results you should invest in a salon quality brand like Keratin Complex ect. It really makes a big difference in the results you will get! beccause her hair doesnt look that good, although it may look better than it did before her treatment. Also those of you who wrap your hair at night, it is ok to continue doing this after the treatment! i know from personal experience.

  • is it ok for hennaed hair?

  • @RemoteControl99aJJI - That I don't know...I imagine you could lose the color...anyone know?

  • hi i wanted to know if you can wait longer then 48 hours to wash your hair?

  • @MsTiffany11000 - yes you can

  • I've heard people complain about the smell. I want to do this treatment but I need to go to school the next day. Do you think the smell is so bad that people will notice the day after doing this treatment?

  • @bitemyazz - I found the smell to really be in the application of the treatment on your damp hair. Once the hair is dry I don't recall any smell that was offensive. It did have a kind of nutty smell, but not anything that makes people want to stand away from you. =)

  • @bitemyazz they made a newer formula that is not as strong or smelly. The first time I used it my hair smelt like burnt cookies and coconut, but the second one i tried two weeks ago smelled not too bad.

  • I have blonde hair, Like platinum blonde hair and I am african american/white. I've used the Organix Brazilian Keratin treatment before but not when I had blonde hair, I've heard it turns blonde hair a brassy color, do you know of this is true?

  • @CayluluContagious - I've read lots of reviews that this product does mess with hair color. It lightened my natural color (I don't color it) just a touch, but not enough for me to care. But I'm a brunette with lots of natural high/low lights...I'd be cautious if you love your color the way it is.

  • Thanks, girlie!

  • Is this okay to put on relaxed hair?

  • @MegaMn98 - YES! I have relaxed hair and have used it twice now without any issues.

  • I just bought this today! I hope I'll love it as much as you do! Great review:)

  • Nice Job at the East Valley Fashion Show! My fiance and I saw you there, and later she stumbled across one of your videos for some hair products!

  • @triforce85 - LOL! I'm discovered! Thanks for the encouragement and congrats on your engagement!

  • anybody ever try the anit-breakage serum by organix?

  • @cutflower36 - I have! And I love it!

  • @MzCopealicious - you really need a flat iron. The heat is what seals the treatment in. It doesn't have to be a super expensive or fancy flat iron so long as it heats up to 400 degrees. Watch for flat irons to go on sale at Sally's or on Amazon.com. I picked one up from Sally's back in May for $20 that I really love.

  • @MzCopealicious - to keep the shine in my hair I use Carol's Daughter's Tui Hair Oil. A little goes a looooooong way! The shampoo I normally use is by Shea Moisture. It's their Moisture Retention Shampoo. You can get it at Walgreen's or Target.

  • I love your review! i was wondering if you can tell me if there are any side effects to this product's chemicals? Also, throughout the 30 days, do you have creases from sleeping and do you straighten them? I am still unsure about this product since i have heard several horror stories about hair falling off.

  • I didn't notice any adverse chemical effects & I have a sensitive scalp, but everybody is different. Do a skin test first? Careful of creasing for the first 48 hrs. Straighten out creases right away during that time. After that, touch up creasing like u normally would. New treatments on ur hair is scary! But this is less scary than a chemical relaxer-where the risk of hair falling out is greater. Trust your instincts. If you don't feel comfortable, don't do it. But, IMO, this product is tame.

  • @Readers- you need a flat iron geared toward ethnic hair- they get super hot!

  • Hi, I also hat great results with this product on 100% 4c hair. I did not have the 450 degree flat iron at the time,so I used what I had. I did not get bone straight, but I got 3b-4a hair. That was 3 weeks ago. Now I have the 450 degree flat iron and will use it again. I love this product! With the looser curl pattern, my two strand twists were elongated with a auburn highlight, no breakage and very soft hair.

  • hi my sister gets her hair chemically relaxed but recently her hair stylist moved away and my mother does not want to go anywhre else. i have been looking at products to use for her hair and a friend of mine recomended this line. would you recomend buying everything, the shampoo, conditioer, threatment ect.?

  • @LetsGetGlamorized - Yes. Buying it all probably costs about the same as having someone professionally relax your hair (depending on where in the country you live), so you might as well get it all. Personally, I love all the products in the line and would recommend them.

  • this shampoo has certly alcohol

  • Thanks so much for the response!

  • Hi Tuesday,

I know you have to use a non-sulfate, non-soduim shampoo when you rinse the initial Keratin Treatment out of your hair, but---I was wondering if after that you can go back to using your 'regular' (containing sodium and sulfates) shampoo?

  • @equinepainter - I'm pretty sure that you have to continue to use non-sulfate/sodium shampoo/conditioner throughout the treatment. Otherwise you strip the keratins and reduce the time the treatment stays on your hair.

  • wow what a great review i just emailed you hope you answer all my questions

  • wow what a great review i just emailed you hope you answer all my questions

  • will the curl pattern in your natural hair come back??

  • @MsIGetLotOfThat - yes

  • This does change your hair color so lighter colors and color treated hairs BEWARE!However it is one of the few on the market that don't have the toxins that the other ones do.I used it and I am sorta happy but it changed my color job DRASTICALLY!

  • @alexisnicoleking How drastically? And do you have dark hair? And would you use it again?

  • @atinob43 I have jet black hair and it turned it a soft brown color. I have not used it since because I was afraid of it going lighter, as I am of a darker complexion and that would not look that nice on me. However, I have friends who have done this and it did not do this. It actually came out nice, do not get me wrong, the only thing that went wrong, to me, was the color. I think that this is a better alternative to the extreme keratin treatments that are out there.

  • Please Answer: Do you HAVE to wash your hair 48 hours after you wash it. My hair feels good right now and I don't see a need to wash it again. & can I use my sulfate shampoo about a week after I did it? ^.^

  • @hizzgurrl - I actually waited 72 hours before washing...I don't think there's any rush to wash your hair. However, I believe that you do have to use a sulfate-free, sodium-free shampoo throughout the course of the treatment. I think sulfate interacts with how the keratin works in your hair. Let me know how it works out for you! xoxo

  • I've heard it changed the hair color of some blondes, i have natural red hair do you think anything will happen? O__O

  • @thexmarksmyheart - You know, I did feel like my naturally brunette hair color was lightened a little bit. My stylist even noticed it. And I've heard the same thing about people noticing their hair color changing, although mostly people who have colored their hair. So, to answer your quesiton...maybe. :) I know, not real helpful. lol

  • i got a keratin treatment professionally done a couple Years ago and it was 400 dollars. it lasted longer and my hair was so nice. but i was aloud to go one with my reg hair routine after a couple days( pony tails, clips ext.) o would love to try this version again but i dont think if id want something that only worked 30 days when my first one lasted for 3 months. i think id probably try it once.

  • @Carolcashg - Thanks for the compliment! I have a Solia flat iron and it heats up to 450 degrees. You probably won't get enough heat from a run-of-the-mill flat iron. You'd probably need a more professional model.

I know some of you have tried this product now...what kind of flat irons are other people using?

  • hair looks great, but dont most hair straighteners only have a heat of 210 degrees?

  • can you curl your hair when you use this product?

  • @ChicSavvy214 - yes you can curl your hair...the way you would with a curling iron or hot rollers.

  • Hi i was just wondering . I bought this and I have damaged hair but its getting better andI havenaturally straighthair. It said keratin so i got it because i thought it was good for your hair. Can i use this as a shampoo and conditioner? Or will it damage my straight hair?

  • @likeomgitsbrianne - I think you're asking if you can just use the shampoo/conditioner w/o the treatment. If so, yes. Only the treatment will straighten out your hair. The shampoo and conditioner can be used with or without the treatment. I'd fee confident in trying them alone. Generally they should be safe (unless you're allergic to something in them, etc.). If you do try them, let me know what you think! I find the smell lingers, which I love!

  • @fromtuesdaywithlove Ohkay thank you (:. Just to let you know I have tried them and the smell lingers in my hair too all day long. It smells wonderful!

  • I stumbled upon this at Walmart and decided to buy it along with the flat iron spray but haven't used it yet. I was waiting on positive reviews from someone who was actually african american like myself. Your review was so helpful to me because I was looking for a more safer alternative to maintaining the smoothness of my hair in between relaxers. I am now excited to try this. Thanks !

  • @Angela5388 - I am so glad this review is helpful! I was like you, standing in Walmart, wishing someone could tell me if I should take the risk. So I'm glad to help someone else make a more informed decision. Let me know how it works out for you. xoxo

  • I'm thinking of using this..but...I have curly/ wavy hair..which I love...my only issue is that it frizzes and poofs in humidity. If I do not do too much straightening do you think it'll remove the frizz and keep the waves?

  • @MrWookiemonster - I would say that if you plan on using this product, expect to lose any curls or waves. I used it on my natural roots which are very curly, almost kinky, and they are pretty much flat now. However, keep in mind that this treatment only lasts thirty days and does not permenantly change the behavior of the hair (like a relaxer would). I hope that helps...

  • @MrWookiemonster

I do too! But i used this last night, and the shampoo and conditioner didnt take our curls/waves. Honestly they tamed them, and my hair didnt frizz (and trust me im the queen of frizz) and it left my hair really uber soft, and i went out today and it didnt poof AT ALL. (:

  • @MrWookiemonster

and by the way, im talking abut the shampoo and conditioner. i havent tried what she is using lol

  • I just bought this product!!!! Tell me how your hair feels in about 2 weeks. I plan on using mine in a few weeks.

  • @TheHairFiles - Thanks for commenting...I will definitely post an update...and let me know how your experience is...I'd be interested in hearing how it works for others. luv-luv.
