The area was called Palestine since, but there was never such a people like "Palestinians". They were called Syrians/Jordanians.

And there wasn't another country here, it was an area, part of British Jordan, and before that it was part of the Ottoman Empire. The people there were Syrians, Jordanians, Egyptians and Hebrews (Jews that lived there, and many that came to live there).

The reality of it, that there were both Arabs and Jews, and they couldn't live in 1 country so it was divided
