It's a really good grip, when I first tried it out I really saw an almost instant increase in accuracy and snap, where the disc pretty much tears out of your hand instead of releasing it. I'll admit though, I think I may have done something else while testing that out because now I think I'm back to my old inaccuracy and releasing it more than I'm letting it tear out of my hand.
The grip Climo demonstrates is called a 'Fork' grip, sometimes referred to as a 'stack' grip. I use it for putter drives/ups and mid drives/ups and some fairway (smaller rimmed discs). It's uncomfortable for wider rimmed drivers for me.
The "powergrip" in an article of Disc Golfer Magazine entitled "Gripology" they demonstrated it in the way Climo didn't seem to care for (with the four fingers side by side along the inner rim---is he showing us a modified powergrip? I have to say he would have more control at the expense of power given that his palm "cheeks" are hugging the rim (friction)? Any help or direction to another authority on grip would be great!
A power grip like Climos and oter pros doesn't mean you have to put a lot of power into the drive, it's the grip and form of the throw as well as a clean follow through that get you extra distance. Watch ken throw and you'll see he only throws with at most 85% power with great results.
I use the pinch grip since I started playing(22 years ago) and to me, it is the only way.I might get a little bit more distance with an power grip, but I can't control the disc that way soo,No Good!
But try to stay loose and smooth and have fun(meaning,no negative thoughts&vibes during play).
I've been using a 3 finger grip forever w/ superb distance results. However, after trying this I could never go back to 3. Not only does it vastly improve accuracy, but I'm able to get about 30 more yards of penetration w/ this grip. The absolute key is to keep the middle AND ring fingers off the inner rim. Only the Index and pinky touch that part of the disc. Good Luck.
Thats why hes the best man.

If he held my disc it would go on the wall and never be thrown again.

Climo's form is a thing to watch. You can feel yourself becoming a better player just watching him (or so I think.)

Awesome video, there are very few videos out there that show a proper grip.
