If this guy is really talking about ethanol, then it is bullshit. Ethanol destroys engines, and pollutes almost as much as oil. Besides, fields will be dedicated to corn, etc, and poor people will have to eat AIR. BS!... Instead, develope WATER4GAS, hydrogas, already done in China, Australia, France, etc. Cost? Besides installation, practically NOTHING. Enough cells and you DO NOT GAS except to drown the monopolists in it. Water4Gas, that's the one.

Ethanol will solve nothing. It will cause almost as much co2 emissions as gasoline. It will cost a lot of money to make. It will drive up food prices up. There won't be enough farms to create ethanol for all cars. etc. It's just a stupid technology.

But it is pretty funny that Rush is shilling for the oil industry, insisting that NOTHING can replace oil, when Brazil already has replaced about half their oil with homegrown ethanol.

And not our inefficient crappy corn-based ethanol either, but much more efficient sugar-cane-based ethanol too.

Bottom line: Brazil has figured it out, Rush never will.

But yes, IF OBAMA (or Hillary for that matter) brought this plan forward as a mandate they would be swept into office. If this is the best argument against Dr. Zubrin's ideas, then he must be correct on all points.

You fail to see the correlation between his two proposals. The ripple effect of the Flex Fuel mandate would solve a number of the seemingly intractable world problems that keep us from concentrating on Mars and further human expansion and enlightenment.
