I think that listening to his pronunciation of English words would be a much better way to adjudicate his fluency in English. As it stands, his English pronunciation is perfect. If you listen to the way that he speaks Mandarin, it's also easy to detect an English accent. Both of these things are very difficult to fake, unlike the memorization of song lyrics.

LOL! It's probably just different style.. you can't determine someone's fluency in language just based on their singing. There are American singers who sings in English but you can't catch every single word they sang too.. The style you know...? LOL!!
