Guns are only on the street for one reason, and the sad truth is, some horrible individuals can, and will get their hands on this weapon that does nothing but allow a person to hurt, or kill people. If guns were laid on a wide open public space where kids could get to them, there'd be many more children killed by guns, then pools in that sense.

And while I can target shoot with a single shot I enjoy letting it rip with a 30rd mag from time to time also (although at todays ammo prices its very expensive). The vast majority of people who commit crimes with guns have obtained their guns illegally anyhow. Therefore, if guns are banned, the good law abiding citizens who use their guns for home protection will turn them in, and no longer have a gun to protects themselves against the criminals who have obtained their guns illegally.
