  • Très belle machine.

  • Nice Job!

  • Very cute!

  • nice give it to me now

  • somebody in my rc plane club broght in and old one of these

  • stuart D10 une belle petite montre !!!!!

  • What a wonderful piece of engineering.

I am amazed that you can run this on air pressure,

What compressed air source do you use to run the model and at what p.s.i

  • Stuart makes a very fine product.

  • Sometimes the builder contributes too!

I've found the castings to be of a high quality. The cylinder common to the Beam and Victoria engines is amazingly good. But then again, Stuart are top dollar, I guess you get what you pay for.

  • you running that on compresed air? does that damage it????

  • No there is air line lube in place

  • happy little beast

  • I've started discussing the steam engine on my site feel free to take a look and let me know what you think

  • All you need now is a nice model ship.

  • sounds amazing. haha.

  • That is a beautiful steam engine

    Well done

  • why couldn't a person make something like this and have it run on compressed air verses steam in a small car? They engine would be larger of coarse but could it work??

  • I'm sure that the energy involved in compressing and sending the air would be pretty expensive. I wonder if it might also be dangerous too?

  • For an engine this size in a small car that you want to pop around for 10 minutes it is common to use compressed air tank instead of trying to build and fire a small boiler.

Obviously for a larger scale compressed air tanks don't scale because they are bulky and they get cold enough as you bleed pressure from them to become inefficient.

  • On Air?!?!?!?

    C'mon...go build a boiler!

  • From Stuart Models £890+VAT for one just like this.

  • Please note Stuart Models Part No: 34-50-71209Price: £890.00 (exc VAT)

    Is without the reversing mechanism

  • where can i get a ready to run small steam engine and how much would one cost?

  • Super model. Amazing exhibition.

  • I think it needs a muffler lol

  • I want one for my house. good conversation piece

  • Where could I get one

  • The basic casting set is from Stuart Models

You could then machine it up yourself

    or contract the job out

  • Cool! I love steam engines!

  • I am surprised that you did not use the original round style draglinks that are supplied in the reverse gear kit. Engine sounds really good. Great job!

  • The valve gear links and the eight stud head were trying to give the impression of a larger engine on a smaller scale than the standard.

  • I really like it, I think I will do it on my D10 engine too!

  • Thats a nice engine, do you intend to run it from a steam boiler at some point?

  • The engine has now been sold to some one that intends to put it in to a model r/c boat

  • sorry... not seamengine I meant steamengine...

  • I'don't know how to say it but it's something special with a seamengine that other engines don't have I could sit down and watch a steam engine go for hours...

    they are so impressive

  • that is probly one of the nicer steam engines on youtube!NICE!

  • As a part justification of the cost this model took 250 hours over an 18-month period for me to build. The machine that I have used to make it with is a 10-inch Atlas lathe with a milling attachment.

  • wow.. well i wish i had at least a lathe so i could make little cheap oscilator engines and sell them to raise money.

  • It's a beautiful bit of craftsmanship. I don't know if I have the patience and I think I would destroy my eyes cutting parts for something that small!

  • oh and if anyone want to know a machined kit of that engine costs: $1,120.56.. thats why i don't even bother to look at stuarts for sale... there just so exspensive...

  • ive always thought stuarts are really cool but there just too exspensive and i don't have machining tools either. otherwise i had most of them.

  • WOW, HOW COOL!!!! I've always been interested in steam type engens as a hobbie, but still haven't pursued it. It looks really neat!!! Nice engine by the way! I like the models that look like they could power a ship (model boat)!!! Did you build it yourself from scratch or was it a model? How much was it (if you don't mind my asking)?

  • A real charm.

  • beutyful engine , is that the stephenson methote to reverse direction?

runs verry nice on verry low pressure! good job!

  • Now on show at The Model Engineering Exhibition Ascot

  • The engine runs like clockwork. Very impressive. Does it run well under a heavy load?

  • The engine will run up to 1500 RPM but the Video is just a blur.

  • you should post another vid with more psi
