The toy and this storybook came long before the cartoon series. The earliest material didn't connect her to He-Man at all (and the Hordak toy was introduced as a He-Man villain, with no connection to She-Ra). When they made the series, that's when they decided to connect it to He-Man, and to combine Hordak's Horde with She-Ra's less-impressive villain stable (yes, Catra was originally the main She-Ra villain).

It's funny because I'm a guy and I always thought She-Ra's commercial's was better because of the woman singing the song to the commercial sung it with so much passion in her voice. Another interesting note is that the She-Ra cartoon

had about 99 or 100 episode's that were

produced which is a lost art today. Princess of Power, Jem, and Punky Brewster were the only 3 girl cartoon's I watched as a child that still was better than today's bullshit that they'd run circle's

around! Real talk!
