I believe, and perhaps other people believe also, that the education imparted by the US school system toward children is inadequate, not adequate.
As John Gatto has stated, schools operate exactly as they are intended; thus, the system will never change and cannot be reformed. The system produces homogenized minds according to the current requirements of government and large economic interests.
If I want to educate myself and my young son I must do it myself.
