Hi John, I've got a bit of catching up to do.. : ) Wonderful adventure my friend. Having that storm blow by must have been amazing. I love experiencing what the weather brings when I'm prepared for it. Seems to have this amazing cleansing effect that washes all the petty stuff away.. : o) Did you make a little alcohol stove right on the trail? Cool! Take car my friend.. : )
@saradreaming Yes, that little green can was a stove I made walking; I found it on the trail. The weather was perfect for a small adventure. I enjoyed the experience very much with the small storm that went through. It's like a fresh start, afterwards, and the hike seemed new and just begining.
That was fun. Love the weather. I really like a good rain because we never get any here until winter sets in. I enjoyed it last year just wearing rain gear and letting it fall all over me. Buster seems to like getting wet too. I used to walk him in the evening rain or shine and he preferred the rain I think.
@dmacken11 The weather did add a bit of fun to a rather long hike. Kept the aftermath cooler, too. It was a fun little hike. The area I go to alot is just around the corner of this mountain, except there are a lot more trees. Gotta get Buster out there again, Dave, lagging tongue and all, ;-) Thanks for watching.
"I love weather"... is that the same as "I love uphills"? Haha...
Seriously though... I know what ya mean; it really enhances the experience to be able to witness and enjoy Nature in all of her forms. Looks like Autumn is finally upon us, eh? We've had rain now for 2 days (and MUCH cooler temps)... kind of nice actually. Beautiful location for a hike as always my friend. Loved the way you captured that storm rolling in too. Best to ya John :-)

@intenseangler Yup! About the same. :-) Gotta love the variations, right? This wasn't as noticeable as my most recent trip, answering a tag from medicjimr. Autumn is really here and Winter isn't far away. Hope it does some more raining between the snow and sun, first. I really loved all the moisture we got last Fall. Thanks for watching John.
That's really nice looking country you have there... seems like you can see forever....Here in the mountains of WV you're lucky to see across the road lol. Great video, as always Take care :]
@meatmangary Yup! There are some pretty impressive vistas out west, here. Lots of greenery is something I've noticed about back east. You folks get gobs of rain. The AT, (Apalachen Trail), is called the Green Coridor for a reason. Utah is the second driest state in the U.S. so things do open up to views. Of course, the mountains help that along, too. Thanks for dropping by partner.
That really was fun! Enjoyed watching as the clouds rolled in, then the rain and thunder, and finally beautiful blue sky! Fun hike indeed - thanks for this one! How wide would you say your umbrella spreads open? It really worked great.
@wawhiker It was a fun hike with lots of changes and variation in terrain. Glad you could come along and enjoy it, too. The umbrella is a little over 50 inches wide. I got that one at a Military surplus store for seven dollars. I liked it because it was quite light, comparatively. My rainbow umbrella is the same size but weighs a couple of lbs. When I know the weather is questionable, I'll usually take and umbrealla. They're a great piece of equipment if you're expecting rain, or even snow.
Great Video! I've never hiked the shoreline trail, but have been up to Ben Lomond many times. We usually hike up from Willard Basin. Feels like cheating, but it is still a great hike.
@traviswademusic That is a good hike from W. peak. I love that area, too. The views are fantastic, aren't they? Have you ever come up from the south base of the Ben Lomand mountain to hike the ridge? That is tough. I've done it twice but I don't think I want to do it again with my questionable Achilles tendon. Thanks for dropping by partner.
@steintanz I've really grown to appreciate the value of an umbrella, of any style and size, on short hikes like these. For very little weight, on a day hike, they've come through for me in positive ways, time and time again. You're sure right about underestimating a trail's steepness. Like I said, I thought this was a much easier trail that what it turned out to be. The joke was on my. Lol. Thanks for the comment Tim.
Nice one bro~

... got umbrella? Got no problem!
Never say it won't get much steeper than this, because there's always two more rises to come than you'd have thought. :o)
The clouds create a really wild scenery in the sky - thanks for the trip!
