So when I put my bullet in the brass case it is really loose and falls inside the case, would you be able to tell me what i'm doing wrong or missing out on doing?
Thanks for this video! I've seen a lot of vids (like the johnrob ones) which are great, but don't go through the details of how exactly to set up the die depth and give tips.
I have been reloading .38 spl recently, with full wad cutters, using Lee carbide dies. Even when fully seated as per instructions, the profile of the cartridges, look "waisted" as if the cases were originally sized too narrow. Have you had this appearance? The cast bullets were .356 & .357.
im just now getting into reloading. i will be reloading 45 auto and 44mag. i noticed you only used one die to seat. my die sets came with 3 dies though. one to deprime and "flare" i guess one to seat and crimp? and then i have this one with nothing in it and two extro rods that came with the set that looks like they might screw into the empty die.... what is it all for???!!!
You can shoot me questions anytime you aren't sure. I'll get back to you within 24 hours usually. Unless I'm out in the field hunting or camping then it may be a few days.
Watching this from the perspective of a reloader rather than a Dale Carnegie enthusiast, the video is pretty good. It covers all the basics and addresses a couple of issues I wasn't totally clear on as I have just started reloading. Thanks for the video ammosmith, I plan to watch your whole series.
I'm falling to sleep. The lighting is bad. The dialogue is boring. And he is not speaking in a clear voice. There are no close-ups of the finished item.

Do you have to use gas checks with the cast lead bullets and especially with the 45 caliber???
paininthe10 11 months ago
@paininthe10 Not unless the bullet has a gas check shank.

Those extra rods are probably replacements just incase the decapping pin on your resizing and decapping die breaks.

Were you using carbide dies?
IPSC3rdHorseman 3 years ago
Yes. It's rare to find dies today that aren't carbide. I have some and they do a really nice job. I use the carbides because they are so much faster.
